Probably stamped on there because that was the fluid of the time when built... I rebuilt mine and used DEX VI.. 1000 miles and no issues..

ummm, you got no screws holding your Cvs... looks like all holes are empty... should be 6 bolts going through CV flange into rotor.. yeah, what Coug said 😁

If you spin yoke and neither Cv output spins, then your yoke shaft is stripped/sheared.. One wheel/ Cv must spin if yoke is turning.. If all internals looked ok then Its either a stripped/sheared yoke pinion or output flange.. Thats all I could possibly muster from your scenario... Anyone out...

I love wrenching.. I like the quiet seclusion.. I fix what needs to be fixed on my small fleet of cars along the years.. That simply comes from the fact that I am a cheap ass and can't stand to spend money on something I can do.. Started small... Dodge Avenger, Ford Expedition, Gmc...

Speedo gear may be stripped.. Need to pull that screw holding 90degree adapter on tcase and check gear teeth.. Id start there.. If the grear looks fine, it could be issue with the internals in the 90degree adapter.. Only other thing possible is a sticky speedo cable or bad connection behind...

Sounds like a sheared pinion... Not very common I'd say, but if you didn't see anything unusual about the gears then that would be my next guess. See if you can remove driveshaft and pull yoke forward out of case... 😯 This is assuming you can turn yoke freely without feeling any gear resistance.

Leave the exhaust off till tested.. Plus it will piss off the GESTAPO !!! 🤣
