    LAV-150 Gwinnett Sheriff SWAT

My kid’s always help on this, and other projects at the shop. There are many times that their friends want to come over and participate. Here, the sealant is being scraped out of the vision block ports. Sometimes we find bolts broken off in the threaded holes, and they have to be addressed too

    LAV-150 Gwinnett Sheriff SWAT

Yes, and I hope to get around to putting together a thread for each of them on this site. At the moment, we are kinda busy and I dont have time to do that yet. However, if you google "wgtactical" you will see up to date links to just about everything we've done here. Really complete ones are on...

    LAV-150 Gwinnett Sheriff SWAT

It probably wont go fit most drive thru's when completed...you will see why later:wink: The first thing we do is steam clean inside and out, then chop off everything that we don't need...then steam clean again.

    LAV-150 Gwinnett Sheriff SWAT

This is will be an makeover for the Gwinnett Sheriff’s SWAT LAV-150. This particular vehicle has some history, as pointed out in an email I received from a gentleman in Texas who wrote: “Hi Gerald, I thought this would interest you. Your V150 was one that was "captured' in Panama during Just...

    The Eddie Black M114A1E1 Restoration

We just got the powerpack in and the hoses, wiring and linkage hooked up. Much of this will be covered, but it still gets the same amount of detail as if it were in the open.

    The Eddie Black M114A1E1 Restoration

Thanks for the comments guys :-D Rory it was a pleasure to have you here, and it's a shame that you live so far away. Roscoe, when this restoration is completed, it will be little more than a floor ornament here. There will be lots of detailed pictures posted on the net, but it may not...

Hey Rory, It was great to have you guys out for the past couple days, and we look forward to seeing you again next time

    What is a "restoration"?

You are right Yohan, and thank you and papabear for the kind comments :-D I have just seen too many times how loose interpretation of words can either misrepresent or even underestimate the condition of whatever is being discussed or described. Keeping in mind that folks sometimes just...

    What is a "restoration"?

I agree there should be at least three categories to cover the scope of what everyone is doing. I know that there has been a tremendous effort and resources put into the Eddie Black machine, and that the detail goes well beyond factory specifications. This particular project has seen an...

    What is a "restoration"?

I've seen so many examples of what folks tend to call a restoration, but I can't recall any gage or format to measure a restoration by. Heck, I've even purchased vehicles with an alleged "restoration" Basically, I've seen new paint over dents, rust (both surface and deep pitting), dirt...
