Oil sending unit - odd wires on it

I don't know why that has that wire like that, unless it was a thought that it would be used on more than one type of motor, or a ground, but I don't know why those old ones have it while any of the newer ones we see today, do not.

Engine block drain cock for coolant change

I'd go for it. I wouldn't even worry about the baking soda. I would just flush it for a good bit. Refill with just water, run it for 15-20 mins at 1500 rpm, let it cool, drain it, flush it one more time, install new thermostat with gasket, refill with coolant. Baking soda will foam up and may...

Oil sending unit - odd wires on it

I'm not sure what does what exactly, but mine looks a bit different as I do have the 0-120 sending unit and it just has a plug to it. Is the new unit a 0-120? If not, it'll be off again, maybe just not as jumpy, but if it is and it still flickers around a lot, I would check the wires to make...

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

Jet fuel burns great! Imo, it was better than diesel but also not as volatile as gas. The stuff I had was clear and seemed dry so I mixed it with wmo. Truck had some power with that stuff!

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

It's been starting up everytime with no issues and I change the filters annually. I just have to add gas to thin it out a little and in the winter, I run 40/60 oil and diesel. I was running wmo mixed with jet fuel but I'm all out of jet fuel but until then....

    New owner questions

I remember in autotech class, my first hour of the day, I always had dirty hands, smelled like grease and oil. Some of my friends started to call me a "grease monkey." Well if the shoe fits, I'll wear it! 😆

    Habitat Flooring

Perhaps in your case, that will be better!

    Habitat Flooring

I can't say how that will hold up. Years ago when I worked at a home improvement store and that innerlok stuff first became available, it was all about simplicity for the installer. These still have plastic tabs that inter lock with one another? This product will definitely need plenty of...

Probably been beaten to death but is there any way to know if your truck ever went anywhere?

I've always heard it referred to as "Nasty Guard" lol

    Now that's what I call a camper!

I agree. I can imagine the bumps and vibration alone will slowly dismantle it. If I was to build an RV on a MV, I'd go with a van truck or from scratch and use something like a shipping container.

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

Depending what ran for fuel, could be the cheapest too! That's all I run is used motor oil and some gas when it needs to be thinned out. Beats $4+/gallon with 50gal fill ups!

My bad, I didn't see the reply.

    New owner questions

I left a message on your other post about the soft top. Offer still stands while it's available, but for how long 🤷

M35a2 air filter element: commercial part #?

This is one option to consider

Making a Deuce a (better) highway vehicle?

That's what I think too. With a winch, imo, just makes the truck that much more capable. A crane, I sure would love to have one, but I can see a butt ton of benefits to having one!

    Pinion brake?

The touch a truck show I was just at last weekend, a guy had a customized monster truck there. He was running Rockwell axles, same as on the deuce. I didn't get any pictures which I should have, but he welded on some brackets to fit a disc brake assembly on there and it looked good. I asked him...

    Transfer case fluid change

    Transfer case fluid change

I would stick with gear oil for the transfer case for sure. You can also use that in the transmission as well, but Spicer did spec to use 40 SAE non detergent oil. Like Kenn said, the argument on which to use in other threads can be confusing, but as long as the lubricant is stated to be yellow...
