Those are 1/2 inch for deuce and a half front winches. Try Jim Henry at (704)983 5940
and hit the shows in your area. Then, there is always memphis Equipment. John T
Pat, I used a strap type oil filter wrench on a real tight one once, it worked for me. I have only ever had a problem with that one. When I got it off, it had a sealant all dried out on the threads, some driver must have hated a loose knob and locktited it but good. John T
I have an M35A2 with a hole thru both sides of the block and oil pan at #3 cylinder, will check tomorrow for the make of the engine. We pulled the heads and they are OK, I thought sure the front one would be ruined. John T
M543 is gas unless it was repowered. M543A2 is multifuel. *!^ is same wrecker body on 800 series 5 ton. Some say the older M62 with single boom cylinder would pick more weight than 543 type wrecker with twin boom cylinders. John T
Hi Kenny and all of the list, I apologize for being so poor on a web site, what I do have has a major mistake on it anyway, I run an excavation, traffic signal business and I never have enough help so I'm out there daylight to dark thirty every day. I'll get with it. I also have the winch drum...
Hello all, Thank you for the positive responses, my website is only a homepage at this point, webmaster and I haven't linked up too well yet. I will take pictures of them by Tuesday and post them here. I sell them for $20 each or $35 for the 2 pieces. They will fit in a flat rate postal mailer...
You could buy the new production boots from me. Mil Spec canvas, exact same size and shape as the issue ones that come in the Arctic Winterization Kits. I have been making them for about a year, sold quite a few at the East Coast shows this season. John Tennis
RE: Re: RE: Opinions on value of this bobbed duece
The price sounded very reasonable to me, I have experience building the shortened deuces and I don't think you left any room for your own time in the price. I really love the M series trucks, I appreciate their simplicity and parts...
I'll be there by Thursday night, bringing the gull wing and a bunch of deuce stuff to sell. Clean air exhaust kits, power steering kit, gas fording kit, new seat covers, shear pins for deuce and for 5 ton front winch, heater installation plates, light bulbs, pioneer straps, gas can straps, and...
The M35 Products kits come complete, everything is there. I have 2 trucks with them installed and just bought 2 more trucks with them on from the Gov't. They are excellent when off road. John T
Last M51 I bought cost $1900 with a bill of sale only. It had a winch and runs real good. The 6602 is more powerful off road if you plan on using it. A multifuel would be more economicl if you are running on road. John T
Get the right gaskets, they are quite a bit harder than the gaskets that come with Napa filters. Memphis if no one else speaks up about where to find them. Put the EGT guage in and you'll be fine. Most every deuce smokes some when accelerating. Some smoke a lot more than that and ALL M35A1's...
The Sherman at Norwich University is right where The GMMVCC Vermont Club has their show every year. A wonderful event, great people, vendors and a neat Saturday night dinner for all. Real pretty countryside too. John T
MCINFANTRY, the information you offered us is what this list is all about. Thank you very much for 1st hand specific information on upcoming auction vehicles. I hope you cost GL a lot of money. Since they don't send much of it to our government.John Tennis
I have one of the truck lifting kits that include those front hub lifting eye assemblies, it comes in a large metal box that can be lashed to the front bumper of the truck when driving to the port of embarkation. Funny you noticed them Kenny.... Pretty sharp!!!! John T
The picture of the 4x4 Deuce in this thread is my truck, the first one we built, the one that made everyone want one of their own, right Sasquatch? For a fact, 14.00R 20's are as big as you can run if you don't do serious suspension changes and a stock M35A2 power pack does not make enough...
