Anybody from Michigan going to this show? Anybody going to this show that is visiting Wright Pat this week and would pick up stuff for me? I have 3 MBU hotwater heaters at WP I need picked up. I am scheduled to get them next week but thought I would check and see. I have to go visit Stretch also...
If they are the original rubber lines I would replace them all and check the steel lines real close for rust... The brake parts for these trucks are pretty cheap compared to most. The rubber lines get dry rotted and will collapse onto themselves resulting in pulling, sponginess and other issues...
Yes that one has been there for a while.. I kicked it around but logistical error played a big part..
OD iron Mike picked this one up in FL about a year ago.. I am not sure what he did with it??
I say the 4" but again it depends on what your doing with it. The 6 inch and big tires looks nice and is good for a open field mud bog but changes the center of gravity to much. Another issue for me is getting a jacked up truck down a 2 track up here.. You just rip lights off, smash roofs, and...
Buy it! Get it running and drive the **** out of it! If its missing all the goodies its very hard and financially draining to find them. They are out there or were out there when I was looking but spread in all 4 corners of the universe. I put one foot on the resto road and quickly changed my...
If your not trying to completely restore one they do make very fun, tough trucks. The longer wheelbase rides better than the shorty M37. With some creativity you can make a real cool trail truck out of one.
I eventually took the plow off it and put some HUMMV troop seats in and other M series...
They only made 300 and some change of them to begin with.. I have one but its been hacked up by the forest service... I know of about 10 scattered around the country in various stages of dis-repair to mint..
Did you get one?
Ok 06 with a C is what I will make this truck.. I will do the other a 05.. I know at a show down the line somebody is going to walk up and tell me it is wrong.. :deadhorse: Thanks guys I am spent also! But 69 is tempting on all my trucks! :D
Ok.. So a M1028 with a 1900lb shelter full my crap maxed out = 9400lbs GVW and a M101A2 loaded is ?? Hmmm about 1280lb empty + 1500lb's more of my crap = 2780lb's + 9400lb's = 12,180 lb's of rolling OD crap, soooooo divided by 2 = 06 on the plate with a C on top? My math is not so good..
I...
I checked my CUCV manuals and could not find anything.. I figured it must be in a engineer book somewhere.. I have a signed copy of Davids book but I think its on loan?? That thing is being drooled on by others for at least 6 months at a time!
Whats the proper Bridge Plate number for a M1028 with a com shelter and pulling a M101A2? Do we have a chart on here ? If so I can't seem to find it. Thanks ahead of time..:-D
craaaaazip! craaaaaaaaaazip! craaaaaaazip! Sharpening chainsaw blades and dusting off the steel toes. Wish I had a trailer to bring Aryle and Dave P's great white hope on ! :( I like watching tire chains work!8)
Whew! That could of ended in a much worse way! Glad your ok and your son is not hurt. [thumbzup] I can't believe some people! How can you drive away with that in your rear view mirror? I hope they catch the guy maybe a ramp camera down the road or someone noticed the smashed rear when they got...
Well I am not interested in putting money into the 318 but agree those are some good upgrades for it. The original drivetrain only has 11k miles on it so thats another reason for wanting to just leave the trans and T case alone. The adapter is a bit pricey but still about the same as a NP208 and...
First off the 6BT is a great engine.. What I was saying is it would be a WASTE to put one in THIS truck. The truck is a 1977 and Dodge made some major changes to put the 6BT in there trucks. And furthermore I am not saying the 6.2 is the greatest diesel in the world! I am saying it has more...
Well more like a dog for a small mule.. 6.2's are cheap and I have 4 of them, plus have more torc and do just fine in the CUCV's. Tweak the pump a little dont over rev it and away you go.. I figure with stock tires and the 4:10 gears it should be a good combo falling right between the M1009 and...
