I found the problem. If anyone ever notices fuel draining from the filter drain line and you've tightened the dog snot out of the fitting and it won't stop, it's the rubber grommet up inside the drain orifice (can i say that word  and not get in trouble?). Anyway, over time the rubber...
Rebuilt and installed front drive shaft. Tried to stop the leak with the drain line, no go. The o ring inside the drain hole is shot. Non standard o ring. I'll just wait till the new filter base comes in.
My basement was infested with fleas out in Maryland. Tried everything. One day I saw a guy catching hornets with bacon drippings...hmmm...crazy idea came to mind. I kept the dogs out of the basement, bought a bunch of disposable pizza pans and put a layer of vegetable oil in them. The...
Decided to do some cleaning. Lifted the floor mats and Holy Smokes! Solid dirt! Scraped and vacuumed out about 20lbs of dirt, part of the under mat insulation was trashed, got rid of it too.
found a leak in the fuel system, still trying to figure that one out
found a leak in the heater...
Been playing around in the Toads engine compartment and I noticed fluid leaking down the fire wall below the heater hose. I looked underneath and sure enough a small puddle. I tightened the clamp to the heater and leak went away, or so I thought. In addition to the AF dripping, fuel is coming...
Nope, no pictures here needer. Ya sure on da not nowing stuff. But then again, if all was known about them, would anyone be crazy enough to buy a M1009? never mind, I here mine calling.....
The ciolor was called strato blue. It was a semi gloss paint. Body and bumpers were all the same color most of the time. Occasionally, the bumpers were painted white.
Before I ask the question, I'll start with what I think I know: the K5 Blazer has a 1/2 ton chassis and suspension. The M1009 has a 3/4 ton suspension on a 1/2 ton chassis. There's some extra bells and whistles that go with the M1009 to beef up the under carriage so it can take a beating and...
The light arrived today, thanks. I'll post a pic, its a fuel cell light. You use it when you're crawling around inside a fuel tank (big airplanes) It's 400 Hz because that's what the aircraft puts out at 120 volts. Very nice light!
400 Hz is on aircraft specific. Could be a light used in the back of a cargo / tranport acft. Alameda had P-3s, S-2s, A-3s and H-53s all of which could have used this light. Alameda was my first base way back in "82. It'll find a good home with me.
Installed the pintle hook and bracket. All parts are there except the cross beam underneath. Fun part was getting the pintle to let go. Supposed to be greased and able to spin freely. After multiple hours of many cuss words and innovative prying techniques, got it out, cleaned it up and put ut...
Check the return line that goes back to the pump(?), not exactly sure. There's a plastic line that runs near the manifold that is supposed to take excess fuel and return it to to where it can work it's way back through the system. I'm going on memory so you might check the TM. If that line is...
Rifle rack, jack, jack handle, lots of spare wiring. No tire iron, no spare tire and no front drive shaft.
Almost forgot, 1 9mm round, unfired, coated in gack.
28 volt dc with 400 hz is what powers some of the avionics on a UH-1N helicopter. There is a standard plug in on the pilots side of thecenter console that looks like you can plug a radio into. Saw many a newbie plug in his radio and immediately let all the magic smoke out the back. If there is a...
Man do I feel dumb! It helps to look at the correct figure in the TM. There is a M1009 specific drive shaft that is extremely plentiful. Figure 72 and 73, item 1 in both of the -20P fit and are interchangeable. Ain't cheep, 300+ for a rebuild. Thanks for the advice, I'll look at it this...
