You know it took me all these years to figure out WTF you were referring to. The Yeti rambler. My always faithful side kick. 1/2 gallon of coffee for $1.58 every Saturday and Sunday at Loves truck stop.
Terminus M1009 | Page 19 | SteelSoldiers
It's been 5 years since my 8 hour M1009 paint job. I wonder how it is holding up. Last time I seen it it was far away in a field pulling a wood trailer. I heard someone bought Terminus M1009 and is going to restore it. Anyone here? Good Luck with that...
Duralast Bearing B2414 (autozone.com)
Nothing special about a CUCV dana 60 front axle. Stock 1984 K30 parts fit. Any parts store can get the parts for you. The spindle bearings are difficult to remove from the spindle and easy to install. Make sure to replace the spindle seals.
Best Axle...
Parts requests.
Driveshaft yoke Spicer M1009 with new U joint. The 2 on left are new yokes. I have hoarded many drive shafts and axles over the years. Parts are parts.
Rear B/O lamp used, and I spent an hour removing it with hand tools to preserve it. I messed up a few trying to remove them...
CUCVRUS Repair Projects | Page 14 | SteelSoldiers
I am reposting this rebuild of the side tracks because I received a few Emails about my process. I can promise this method works smoother and will last longer than the imported felt liners. Good Luck.
That looks great to me. A+. I know how hard matching paint and making it look like it was never wrecked can be. That M1009 you have pictured has been coast to coast in the US and made many trips to Georgia from Pennsylvania.
Looking at the pictures I would keep going up front on that engine. It appears that you have a coolant leak at the weep hole of the water pump and it would be wise to just take that front engine cover off and change all the gaskets while you are in there. Also change the grommet for the oil...
Truthfully you should not use post adapter on 3/8" threaded post batteries. You are asking for trouble anytime you drop size of battery cables and any connections. Plumbing rule is in effect. If you have a 3/8 Stud you get 3/8" current and amps. When the battery post is a solid post it has a...
A few weeks ago a member here was looking for an M101 leaf spring. I removed it and still have it. My point is it was an opportunity to clean up a trailer frame and axle and make some money and room in the process. I stripped the frame and sold it to a young man that was building a flat bed for...
The Genius of it. And I would rethink using a grinder to remove paint down to the bare metal. I have never tried to strip anything down to the bare metal with a grinder. You are cutting some nasty grooves in that surface and will never be able to replace all the good adhesion that was on that...
I have the hood back on again. Not permanently but for fit and finish purposes. It aligns well and fits evenly. I don't have the latch in place at this time but am pleased with the alignment. More later. That is about the nicest OEM hood on a CUCV I have ever seen. And next month this truck...
I eliminated the CUCV 360* swivel pintle hitch from the receiver and replaced it with a fixed pintle. Easy as that. It works well and is the correct height. I used some of my fancy hardware with the nuts that have their own wrench built into them. They will work out great. I use the same nuts...
I did manage to assemble another hitch from parts and hitches I had around the farm. WOW. I am a collector of things. No trash. But I basically have just about anything I need to repair trucks and buildings as a DIY farmer/mechanic. Which is nice. Have a Great Day. Pictures later of my handy...
That blue wire you are showing us is for the fuel pump for the diesel fired rear heater in an M1010. It is just hanging there unused on any other CUCV models. Except with a rear fired heater and under hood heater that comes with a CUCV winterization kit. Good Luck with the issue.
Picked up a set of Grote LED taillamps with Grote brackets. They were on a chassis that came in for a body. They had a special grounding wood mount. All the wires were all blue and the brackets were new. Someone spent some time, expense, and effort to make this light bar. I disassembled it and...
I may have some 16.5 rims. I had a Dodge 880 rim or 2 and a few Ford 16.5 rims if you are interested. Not expensive in Jonestown. But shipping gets expensive.
In lieu of placing a rubber hose on the peg of the switch we could all learn the real cause of the issue. If it is a throttle cable lets correct that issue. If it is the accelerator pedal lets replace it with the correct one. Putting makeshift repairs and add on parts does not correctly resolve...
