I want people to see what goes on behind the scenes with putting this event on.
The rally owns a bunch of surplus handwashing stations. They were used when we got them and we've had them for awhile. And Durhamtown has stored them for us in previous years. But last year when we showed up, most...
You mean it's leaking from between the housing and the bearing retainer?
If so............
under that seal housing are shims, they're how you preload the front and rear pinion bearings. In a 2.5 ton, they look like this:
So, there's no gasket and you're not supposed to put sealer (like...
I know everyone acts like CARC is pure death-cancer-lava-AIDS, but you guys know any urethane paint is supposed to be handled (sanded, sprayed, etc.) with proper safety gear (at a minimum an approved respirator, gloves and long sleeves; preferably a full suit with fresh air supply)?
Even a...
D-town is not consistent in regards to this policy. I have been told wildly different things over the years.
My personal policy (when I had my Mule there) was to drive without a helmet, but had a helmet with me if they decided to be sticklers.
There is a factory electric wiper kit. All of the M44A3 model trucks had it and I have bought 3 or 4 M44A2 trucks directly from the govt. that had the M44A3 electric wiper set up. It works great.
They aren't terrible.
There is another aspect to the plastic wipers...
Folks, we have a small issue.
SCSG-G4 is the guy who owns the MKT and the 2 deuces that haul all of the food, supplies to the rally and cook for all of us so we don't have to come to the event with multiple coolers and try to cook in the dark.
He has a friend who usually drives his second...
Zero chance of flooding. Durhamtown's above sea level height and lack of local rivers make it what I'd consider a zero flooding area, especially in terms of our field.
However, I was just thinking about this. The weather reports have been revised down to 10-20% chance of rain for the event...
I hadn't considered this, but it's a good idea.
Any of you that are going on the hardball convoy, remember, our insurance company requires that we grab a copy of your CURRENTinsurance card. An expired insurance card doesn't cut the mustard.
If ya'll want to send the insurance card to me at...
I know people have done it, but I wouldn't like that short of a driveshaft on my truck. The link below, the guy says his works fine, but look at the driveshaft, I don't see how it can manage with any kind of movement. But he says it works, so I don't know...
Yes, see below.
Everyone, look at this.
Alright, I've worked a lot on this to make everyone's life easier. Both attendees and rally staff.
D-town makes you sign a waiver. The rally LLC's attorney and insurance company want a waiver. I had to get all of the following people to agree...
I think if someone had loaned me their personal vehicle for my company's advertisement, I'd have put some effort into moving it so it wasn't destroyed.
I've heard this over the years from people on the internet but I've bought real CARC from 3 different S-W in Atlanta and Athens over the years. I suspect this is like insurance: Some people have State Farm agents who say "Oh yeah, we can't insure military stuff" but other people have agents...
