Good to hear that everyone is doing better. We'll be back at the farm next year on the same weekend (with more trails, etc.) so, hopefully, we'll see you then...
I don't rember the price point on the unit that I had (that is now in a truck accross town), but I remember being told that it was about a third of the US one. I didn't purchase it, so I have no way of checking records on it...
I see that the link to my website page with R2 info has already been posted, so I'll just second the request to have dataplate info and such sent on to me for inclusion in my listing...
I know where a few of these are (including two in North Carlina that are relatively complete and looking for...
I'm like the other guys who just muscle it around... Maybee that why I get up in the morning and go do my PM still... :) I also keep a small sledge in the toolbox as it helps to unstick the pins (and it's part of my tire changing gear that I keep in hand just in case...).
I think my ratio of...
LOL, I have four T245 230 cubic inch M37 engines in the back yard... Two "runners" sitting in a M101 trailer and two "parts blocks" sitting on pallets. If shipping wasn't a bear, I'd sell you one of the runners for $300 just to get it out of my hair...
The 318/360 swap used to be easier...
I have a buddy who has been running a Chinese head for about four years now... Can't tell any difference between the Chinese unit and a US Made one when installing it or running it. Got if from another friend here in NC who was asked to test them.
In fact, I got it just before Bjorn had his...
Chuck was showing you his copy of David Doyle's U.S. Military Vehicles Field Guide: World War II - Present . David is on this site as DDoyle... PM him for a copy... :)
Great photos.
I think your wife did great Rick, that shot of the M151 in the middle of the ford is enough to make me want to add one to my collection... :)
As someone who was too busy to take many photos, I really appreciate everyone else's...
While on the subject of spark plugs, I have a page on my website that discusses military plugs (including cross reference info for different manufacture's parts numbers for them) as well as some generic info such as what the condition of a plug tells you about your engine's performance.
See...
Great to see you here!
Glad that you could make the rally in Virginia. Looking forward to seeing you at some events here in NC before we see you again up in VA. :)
I really want to thank everyone who came out for the event. I had a great time, and hope that everyone did as well.
I didn't take many photos, so hopefully, some other folks did and will post them or email them to me (some folks aren't on the forum here). I'll post mine tonight when I...
My comments about vehicle registration, license class, and insurance, for vehicle domiciled in North Carolina are (should be) in the thread that Chuck referenced in his earlier post.
In a nutshel:
North Carolina has NON-CDL Class A, B, and C operator's permits (licenses). If you are not...
It would help me keep track of who is comming/arrival ETA if you could fill it out and email it to me...but if not, I can have you fill out one when you arrive... :)
I'm late to the party... :) but I have one like Will's (strike with hammer) that I got from McMaster-Carr and have used it for years... Works great and wasn't very expensive. Used it on cables for everything from a buddy's MGBGT to a CAT 977K (and, of course, a high number of the MV's that...
Plenty of room to store stuff for a while...
I need to pull up the link for the tractor pull and post it. It'd be fun to put the XM813 in.
Don't forget that we have plenty of room in case anyone wants to bring stuff for sale/trade.
A couple more things to add... :)
Right now, we have about five ladies comming, so if your spouse is concerned that they will be the only one, they wont be...
In addition to all the stuff we have at the Lodge (pool, hiking trails, horseback riding, etc.), there are a bunch of antique...
I don't know of any stock MV that would have a ground clearance issue... I've been using a CUCV (Chevy pickup) for trail maintence so far. Got a couple of spots that I haven't taken it yet, but ground clearance wasn't an issue...
Do you have a specific vehicle that you are thinking about...
Sorry to hear this. Good to hear that your Dad is doing better though. Get him healed up and put next year's trailrides/rally on the calendar. :) We'll be gathering next year at the same place, same weekend (Labor Day), we'll just have more trails and stuff to do... :)
Take care.
