Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

I think better puller with the pointed end and some decent bolts. Not sure.

You should haver a pointed puller to get that off. I never had any issues getting them off with a puller. That looks like it has been beat on at one time. No good. I have seen guys beat the shaft. Not sure where the issue is here. Have you used the correct puller? You are going to have to put...

Best solution for a steering column?

Check this thread out. All I will say is do NOT follow the instructions on You Tube for rebuilding a C K steering column. Pull the entire column and get it on a clean work bench. I have done it several times. Now I will remind you at first I failed but I studied hard on my own steering columns...

Yea the guy that changed the dipstick grommet was the same guy that put the 3-bolt converter in.

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/cucv-head-gasket-head-or-change-engine-survey.137671/page-5#lg=post-1741453&slide=5 Check out my little project from back in 2015. I was just going to change the head gaskets and well I went wild. Had fun for a few years and sold it so someone else could...

That shifter seal is often over looked. I had the seal remover and the installer but haven't been able to find it. I was successful in using a pick to remove it and a deep socket to install it. Good Luck. I hope you changed the dipstick grommet.

Trash the hood and possibly the door. What does the inside bottom edge of the door look like? The rocker you should cut all that out and weld a replacement in there. Gluing over the rusty one will just add more aggressive rust. Rust never sleeps. NEVER. And so steel item is truly rustproofed...

    Best CUCV replacement dash pad

How about in the upper corners where the bezel attaches? And is it 1 metal base piece. This matters. I like the USA.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

No gasket. Just take your time and put everything back the way it belongs. No short cuts or half fast tricks. Good Luck. I will be here waiting for a report. Have a question? Please ask no question is bad except the ones you don't ask and break something. Doing it right the first time is the...

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

BINGO. I never seen that when I installed them. I guess I wasn't looking. But today I was getting some tools for raking leaves and the light hit it just right and I see it. That picture was taken the night I installed the doors. I was very upset today when I seen it. I thought how it could have...

The correct parts will fix almost every problem almost every time. Good Job. I knew it was the 3 bolts that had you messed up. I am sure it wobbled before, and the wobble is what chewed the teeth off.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

The OEM 6.2 diesels and gas engines were SAE standard all the way up to the old cab V/R cab chassis, Suburban and K5 Jimmy and Blazer models. GM used standard body bolts and metric and standard power train bolts all the way up to the new 1988 cab. That was a very confusing era when it came to...

    Best CUCV replacement dash pad

I left that attached to Terminus M1009 when I sold it. It was a site to see the dancing that went on at Rausch Creek while I was wheeling. Today I was raking leaves and looking for parts. These parts look like brand new after being stored in the barn for 20+ years. Happy Holidays.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

No, I am sorry. The bolts that bolt a bellhousing to the block of the stock 6.2 are 3/8 - 16 SAE. That may not be the case on that fancy new engine you have but I am 100% positive I have used a 9/16" swivel impact socket since the 70's to remove any transmissions in GM truck up to the 1991 R & V...

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

I think you are ready to go. I completed this job on a lift and on the ground. Either way you don't need to remove the transmission to do the job. Just 4" long 3/8" bolts and slide it all back and replace everything. I changed over a 100 of them. The hardest part I encountered over the years was...

    Best CUCV replacement dash pad

That video was not very helpful. But Thank You anyway. The real issue I always encounter is the corners of the dash pad where the 2 upper cluster face/bezel corners attach. On the OEM one there was a hole in the tin, and you could clip the Tinnerman's nut on the edge and it fit like it was...

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

Basically, it was a piece of 3/4" plywood with 4 sides that the transmission pan sat inside of. I would strap the transmission fast to it and place it on my floor jack and jack it up in place. Outside I used plywood on the ground and inside the cement floor to roll it back and forth. I just put...

I myself had Dogs all my life. Now I have Cats. I never want to go thru the loss of another furry Child. My best buddy fur baby in the world passed away and I fear of the next one could outlive me. The Dog would not know how to handle that and would think I abandon it. Cats??? Well, they don't...
