    M38A1 wiring diagram?

Anytime, don't hesitate to ask if there's more that you need. In the M38/M38A1 group on FB, Wes Knettle is usually pretty good about answering the real technical questions as he's been around these machines for years.

    M38A1 wiring diagram?

Oof, so a few things, the schematic I posted will actually give you the info you need for most of that. I don't want to assume your vehicle is still 24V, with only the main power switch, but I will for this. One is power coming in, which is split out to the light switch and horn for constant...

    M38A1 wiring diagram?

Ok, so knowing that now, what is the issue? I ask only because I can't say I'm aware anything quite like that. Not that there isn't, if there's a TM that has an overhaul procedure for the gennie, it may include what you're looking for then.

    M38A1 wiring diagram?

If you don't have the manual, this is the standard schematic.

    M38A1 wiring diagram?

Wonder if there's any difference between the lower and higher output seeming how the 100 amp is for additional equipment useage.

    1952 M38A1

As I said on FB, that's a steal! What's the plan?

    Batteries

Yup, as long as the circuit is open, nothing other than time will drain either one.

    M38 engine ?

Fire away, it may take a little longer than FB to get an answer, but the info here is usually real solid.

    M38 engine ?

If it looks anything like this, it's a L134. Anything else would be incorrect.

    I may have a problem...

I don't know how I missed this reply for so long, but I'm sorry I did. Dad was in from '67-'69, and while I don't know for certain if company vehicles would have been marked quite that way since he was in a designated specialty unit and I'd be surprised if they actually had a large allotment of...

What have you done to your JEEP today

A week's worth of evenings and a full day today and I can finally say I have all the lights working, correctly I might add, on the C. About 40' of new wire, and a couple dozen new connectors, it's good to go, and I didn't have to shell out $800 for a new harness. I will say I was quite amazed at...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I used the pretty, expandable mesh loom on the 53, it almost looks like old fabric loom lol and I like it better than tape.

What have you done to your JEEP today

Been working on refreshing the wiring on the C over the last few days. It was a rats nest of hacked wires, crumbling insulation and just outright broken wires. So, I finally ordered some wire and Packard connectors (I know, not the correct style) to start the process. A PO had put in a pull...

    Tires for M170

Coker, Kaiserwillys, Summitt, Jegs, ArmyJeepParts, all carry the tires you'd be looking for to start with. There's more I'm sure, but this will get you started.

    I may have a problem...

After almost a year, I finally got the charging system fixed. After doing a little troubleshooting over the weekend, I'd determined that the generator was faulty. I really didn't want to spend for a new one, spendy spending, but John up at Midwest hooked me up Monday and it arrived Tuesday! At...

    Slave cable part needed

IF you can track down a two pin plug assembly, it can be attached by soldering, not a difficult process other than getting the insert shoved into the housing once it's all finished up.

    Slave cable part needed

I'm not seeing what I used at all anymore. So, you may end up having to use a newer single pin cable and snatch up the single to double pin converter.

    Slave cable part needed

I just ran across a picture of the newer NATO plug with the two pin adapter for our Jeeps. Now, I've also built a set of jumpers for my 12V setup with a plug I found on ebay. It should be somewhere in the "What have you done to your Jeep" thread, I'll see if I can find rhe post number. And I'll...
