mrap 50-50 offset wheels on a deuce

Wonder if there was any update to this thread? I recently picked up a dozen 50/50 offset wheels and was wondering if anyone had learned anything new. I did a search on SS and came up with several mentions in passing in other threads but this is the only thread specifically about them. I was...

What's an M35A2 worth these days?

As you've described it, it sounds like a fair deal. Just know that there could also be many things wrong with it that aren't readily visible...and even still many of these wouldn't affect the price. I would be cautiously optimistic.

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. The previous owner told me he replaced the exhaust tubing under the fender because it had rusted out. I assume the small muffler was put on by him at the time because he also told me he put the bend at the top to prevent some water from falling straight...

Finally made it home. The repair shop was starting to drag their heels and they kept telling me they'd get to it as they can, "but the boss"... So, I called the boss and he seemed anxious to get it out the door and got everyone back on track. On the way back I picked up 12 Michelin G20's from...

What's an M35A2 worth these days?

I recently bought my '71 deuce after seriously looking for about a year and casually looking for about 3. What I learned about prices: If it doesn't run, expect to pay less than $4k depending on how bad it is. I've seen just a rusted frame on shot wheels listed for $500, though I can't say...

This is somewhat of a moot point. The truck is broken down 500 miles away. I don't have the resources to just pop down there and try and work on it, I have to trust someone to get it running. While it was there, I had the shop do some general maintenance (change the fan belts, flush the...

Maybe if the tires were way out of my area, but shipping a little over a ton of tires would cost more than I would want to spend and y'know what, I own a cargo truck!

    KE5AFU's M36A2 Camper/RV Build

Can you tell me about the construction of the shelter you have? Is it aluminum or wood/fiberglass exterior or something else?

    KE5AFU's M36A2 Camper/RV Build

Ha! I was looking at that deuce not too long ago and trying to figure how I could make it work. The base near me was selling some 96" shelters and I thought 2 would do well on an M36. Good luck with the project!

    Crane Ideas?

Just a thought, if you have a square hitch in the back: Cabela's sells this one, game hoist, holds ~400 lbs. Unless you need something substantially bigger, seems like easy set up/tear down for small jobs.

Update: Word from the company working on the injection pump is the fuel transfer pump is shot and unfixable ("impossible" was the word they used). However they've said it can easily be bypassed with an aftermarket pump. Might be able to pick it up in a few days...finally! Recently bought two...

That was my thought too, though I considered that the shut off could have an electrical cut-off built in as well. Suppose it was just a coincidence, as it only happened the one time. I've looked at an electrical diagram for the dash, maybe I should pull stuff apart and clean some contacts. I...

Thanks for the data...I only wish I had the truck home so I could be working on this myself. The "button", I had read about it with other threads the day the deuce went into the shop, but could you tell me what the button refers to? The Plunger Bore Screw maybe? I don't think it's the shut...

The mechanic told me he pulled the fuel filters, cleaned them and fuel stopped at the pump.

The pump is full of seals, why wouldn't some of them fail through time and trials, it hardly seems unreasonable to me. I'd never use the word never when talking about any mechanical part... Thanks for that, might be a better option to go with. I'm not positive, because I only saw it once...

It was a poor starter when cold - which could've been other things certainly. Had to use starter fluid. And when it wouldn't start at all (after an hour of driving at 55, so it was warmed up), 500 miles from home my options were limited. It turned over just fine, I had replaced the...

Yeah, I could tell the guy I bought it from had done his best, one of the reasons I felt confident buying it. He'd also done the oil filter spin-off conversion as well as put in a square hitch. Other pics I took for the insurance co: One way or another, this thing needs to be good for long...

This is my introduction as a new (to me) deuce owner. First time owning one or anything like it. I'm good at learning new things and figured what the ****. So, I casually look for a while bid on a few auctions and finally find one in my budget from a member here. Talk to him on a Thursday...
