    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

So an update here. This webbing is 1" wide, and takes about 40" to do both sides of the lower portion of the hard top. At first i was searching for the original webbing that went here, and forum member bigmike suggested Kevlar webbing. After a bit of internet research and comparisons (probably...

What's the actual realistic price ending on the GOV auction site?

Looks good now. I see what I believe is Cameron Mitchell from SG1... [thumbzup]

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

I received the window channel runs yesterday. They did not fit as well as I had hoped. However, I put the run upside down on the corner of the work bench and hit down the length of it with a hammer. This spread the channel wider and should now work okay. Having a smooth painted window frame...

    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

It's actually my M105A2. I had it all covered for storage and tucked up by the house but had to move it due to a swarm of bees trying to colonize the eves...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

I purchased mine from Erik's. He sells them as a set but can sell individually. One set is ONE side window. Item #'s: 7373286 and 7373298 (7373286 short & 7373298 long) http://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/wislchindofo.html For you Central and East coast fellows, shipping may make it cheaper...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

And here are some pictures of the very tedious sanding, wire wheeling, and initial painting of the lower hard top section: FYI: this wire wheel for a grinder is awesome, and a dirt cheap price too ($8.19 at the time of this writing) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004RHAO/ Interestingly...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

The rear sliding glass windows kind of look like they just need to be replaced. But I think for the time being all I'm going to do is carefully sand and paint the frame. With my cargo cover on (almost always) I can't see out of the window anyway, and it's just used for air flow and temperature...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

I'm not te fastest with this project but I've also included restoring my hard top as part of this. Basically, I don't want to have to take the gun ring off again ;) I've been working on the section of the hard top with the sliding rear window. Like most folks, my rear sliding window is in...

Looking for a 2nd spare tire location...

Unless it's a catastrophic tire failure, take extra tubes and/or patches, chains, clip-on tire inflation, and the tools to dismount/remount a tire. Change or patch the tubes yourself. Doesn't sound like fun to me though, but it sounds better than a rear or front mounted spare.

Looking for a 2nd spare tire location...

You can use rustystud's idea of spare tire mounts on an M105 trailer. I'm not even talking about using up any cargo space: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?139692-M105-Trailer-Modifications

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

HAH! Well, bear in mind it's no small cost for a hard top, gun ring, and gun (replica or no). Also, you don't have to have a hard top. I've seen pictures of folk's trucks with gun rings and soft tops, or even a gunner hole in the soft top (highly uncommon).

    Valence's 1960 Pioneer Tool Trailer

On the excellent advice of juanprado, I purchased three STA Superlugs from Mr. GoldnEagle. Standup fellow to deal with, that's for sure! He did all the leg work and shipped at a good cost via UPS to a friend of mine's business. All three of these fellows saved me a bunch of money! [thumbzup] I...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

I wanted to write that DrillerSurplus did get back with me about the above and he said: "Marson brand model 325-RN. I think it is middle of the size range- the biggest nutsert I think we have put in is 1/2". I know we've done 3/8ths for sure."

BEWARE of Bank of America - now going after MV owners in wiring of money...

Heck, *any* vehicle can have guns fitted to it. What kind of end user question is that? That's like when I was in New Mexico and there is that mandatory stop on the interstate by the boarder patrol. The fellow asked, and I quote, "Are you a citizen?" I think every person in the world could...

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

I received the ammo can trays from TNJ Murray's and boy, are they nice! (note, the straps were sold separately). For those curious about fitment, here's a number of pictures of how various ammo cans fit, and even a Cabela's plastic ammo can which almost fits. It looks like 1-1/4" wide by...

    back-up camera

I'm hoping to find an all-in-one unit with display that'll *record* both front and rear facing cameras (regardless of what is currently displayed on the LCD screen). Bonus if I can also wire in additional cameras but they don't need to be recording.
