If your going to sand down the surface again - take it down with 80 grit - then go over it with 180. I would stay away from any etch primers as you really have to watch what chemical agents each layer of what your putting on.
Use an epoxy metal primer if you get to metal and need to seal it off...
I kinda like the highlighted grille effect - makes the whole truck look "flow".
With the grille it does not stand out all my itself with that paint scheme. The screen does it no good and see your point there.
Grille gives it the Mocho look.
Seeing how Recovery 4x4 stopped giving heads up - now lets see:
One more full Sat and Sun to go through
One more Monday to work through.
Two Tuesday through Thursdays to work through
Work on Friday 4th - get out of work - finish packing the refrigerator stuff and ice - wait for the knucklehead...
the first indicator was the pads on the pressure plate - OR what should be there - they are totally gone as well as the throw out bearing toasted. Pulled the flywheel this morning and it looks like one of them metal silhouette fire arms targets that you hear go PING from a couple hundred yards...
Clay your truck is looking great Sir. Keep your pics coming.
Was just mentioning before - what "secret" stuff you have in your box really needs to be looked at before posting to the world - but I am sure you know what I mean.
Only ones that will totally know what I have in the box will be the...
DH - I have lots more names I am called and I really do answer to all of them - I am willing to share but I do not sell anything of such great earned value to me. There just has to be more but I am old and cannot think of them - I will try to add them on as I go if that is OK.
Fireball - from...
Less than 200 miles on the jeep that had a brand new clutch disc - pressure plate - throw out bearing - turned flywheel.
Here is what it looks like today with the engine out of the hole and pressure plate unbolted - center of the disc stayed in and that was all - the pile of rubble is the...
Seeing as its a crappy day out up here @rain - and I disconnected all but the bellhousing bolts last night - I'll try to get this done today and get the engine slid out far enough to get at the clutch assembly - I was even too lazy to pull the grille assembly out yet unless I really have to. I...
No doubt around here either - been sunny all week and the weekend comes and its going to rain when I have to change the filters on the truck pre-rally. I could finish greasing it but I would be laying in a river in the driveway.
Think I just get Debs jeepy turned around so it can get a tow bar...
Well - I was not trying to patronize anyone - meaning YOU. Look under the what did you do to your 5 ton thread and see what ALL my truck has in it for an off road expeditionay vehicle. I can go anywhere an live off road.
I have not had to post to ask what I should do - I just did it.
And you...
TWM (Zout. Please bring the beaver. That alone will be worth the price of admission.) I was only thinkin of how much work my sisters had to do to get the floormat to size in the new M909. I could sell tickets and donate all the funds back to the rally just to watch them 3 kuckleheads.
You do realize the more you put on SS in writing in full view of everyone - there are folks out there reading this as well that you might NOT want to see what you have and stuff in your truck !!!! just saying.
No doubt you have some awesome work going on there - but there is some stuff posted...
