100% !! I think the state of charge was one of the first things I was taught in school...actually had a great learning experience too just that day!! Had a kid put the charger on a battery and he used the start function of the charger...because that's where you start charging the battery...he...
I jumped outside quick since it's kinda nice out...I found that the wires are all there but the one purple wire that is supposed to go to the starter is not hooked up...wire is just coiled up under the hood too...I don't have a stock connector and couldn't find it so far...are there any out...
Ok that was my main problem or issue...I have seen some stuff before but not that...I found the mod thread earlier today but it didn't talk about what I have. My thought on the relay burning up on low batteries is simple...there isn't enough power to pull and hold the relay magnet shut...the...
Yeah it's been hacked up a bit...I don't see any of those twist caps that you use on house electric but that might be about it when it comes to this starter thing...if that stock relay is still available and not a poc I would like to get one fixed up in there...it's not to hard but I know so...
It does what it's supposed to unfortunately the new relay is stuck on! I guess they let the china smoke out of it...the guy at the yard in Chambersburg where I got it said it stuck on for him and he ripped the wire off the relay...they were jump starting it at the time with the huge yard...
Ok, this is my first post about my 86 blazer I got several months ago...I have been able to figure out most everything on it and it does run great. It is pretty stock so far minus this relay thing. The one weird thing I have, which I have seen others with online, is a starter relay bolted...
Looks very good!! I took the wheel chain off as well...had to unbolt the seat though since I didn't have the key...or at least the correct one!! This rain is nuts...hopefully done soon.
I just found out that the center popped up and locked in position to fill with fuel...I fiddled with it some that day and tried to take it out but it didn't want to easily so I left it...I'll dig some more tomorrow again and see how it unlocks! Pouring rain here today so I'll keep the fuel tank...
I completely appreciate that sticky you did!! I ordered parts by referring to it to get the ones I think I need now plus an extra or 2! I did get the nitrile plugs->I think you posted about that too...I have a nice torque wrench that's seen hundreds of transmission valve bodies, so I'll be set...
That makes sense...I just looked at mine and it has a screen attached to the filler neck that pops up...I will explore this some more and see if it does come out as I do think I could get in there then, if need be, to at least test the float for the gauge-->adjust height and such for the level...
I gotta admit that getting out the sending unit had some challenges...but now that I have done it I don't think a 30 minute replacement time would be out of scope!! Mine did not change resistance at any float location so I had to take it out and get it working again...the reaching in and trying...
Have the batteries ever had the recon done before? I am not sure that trying to get the last .2 out of the battery would merit it but you can try since they are old and may not last much longer anyhow....the debris on the bottom will be there if they sat for a long time without being...
Ok..was just confused since the ground bar on the genset is not hooked up then the wires are hooked together in the switch box...I'm in pa...the code people made me have my sub box done where everything was on a separate bar and in the switch box...I don't understand why but that's what they...
Geez!! I was looking on here for it...not sure how I missed the youtube ref!! You got a few more views on it now,,,nice seeing how you tested and did things. I did see in the wiring pic that it looks like the ground wire and the white neutral wire is hooked together with a jump wire...hard to...
Every one of these posts make me think about getting a 5k,,,,unfortunately the prices they hit today was insane plus I noticed the ones for next year have a start price of 3200!!
Ok I did try yo look for other posts on your hookup as mine was a long ordeal as well!! I don't know how to do that but I'll search up your name on posts...I just saw the soot on the muffler blanket and goo at the manifold....most people have no idea what egt does and where it should be...glad...
I got that for sure....copy and paste has been my friend finding parts for sure...the only thing I struggle with is they show every nut and bolt but I haven't found a general layout pic of where each part is in the gensets...have had that problem on a 531 I've been working on since March!!
I wonder if the muffler might be a little clogged up to or right at the manifold to muffler connection? I got the goo right at the gasket at the muffler where this looks like right at the head exhaust output? You have a infrared heat gun? I used it to get the exhaust up to temp...it also...
The parts lookup is one of my favorite setups in the tm...way better than what I am used to! In the auto world it would take a good bit of time to look up all the individual times a parts used on a specific part...some have done the required to do a part but it isn't very clear still...this has...
Page 64!! That's how I found the part number...I see 2 number 38s....I did not notice yesterday when I had the cover off that there was a line going into the side of the tank too...I will get 2!
