Howdy from just north of Cypress, Texas.
Good luck on the recovery. Keep us posted on the progress.
I saw that two.fiveM35 shared a link for the upcoming Texas Rally on April 1st. That weekend is always a good time. I hope you are able to make it and bring your new truck.
I was just looking at the images after doing a Google search for "M35A2" trying to find a picture.
I stumbled across this image >>>>
I knew the picture looked familiar. Really, it's not like you can forget the day a Prius pulled a Deuce home!
Lincoln coordinates with Mullins and the museum to register us as a group. That applies to everyone that camps at the Offroad Ranch and convoys to the museum on Saturday. The museum staff saves an area for us to park / display our vehicles.
If anyone plans to camp at the museum or take their...
Mark - I'll be at the Texas Rally, and I'm going to take you up on the offer to drive the Goat! :driver: Fuzzy also offered me a ride in his HEMTT. So, I hope to spend a little time in the Goat, a little time in the HEMTT and the rest of the weekend in my Deuce!
If you get to College Station...
When I called Jeepsinker last December, the engine was making a loud "knocking" sound. It was the loudest at the top rear of the engine on the passenger side. There was no oil on the firewall at that time.
Well, we are going with Plan B! No, not the contraceptive... The engine swap...
That's a classic example! Trying to do too many things at one time usually results in nothing done right! My old engine usually idled at 500 to 600 rpms. I assume at 5,000 to 6,000 rpms I would have a grenade as opposed to an engine! :burn:
:funny:
l knew I should have sent a pair of waders with the truck....
That could make sense about the turbo. I believe my truck was underpowered (yeah, I know all Deuces are underpowered). Jeff (member TAMU86) has a truck very similar to mine. Last time I followed him to an event I had a hard time...
My Deuce was delivered to Jeepsinker in DeRidder, Louisiana today!
:driver:
Once the engine is repaired, I will drive it home from DeRidder, Louisiana to Montgomery, Texas. I plan to tow archmark's M105 trailer on the way home.
Let me know if there is anything else that needs a lift from...
The Load Out
As mentioned in Post #1, my Deuce left Montgomery, Texas this afternoon headed for Jeepsiner in DeRidder, Louisiana. Transportation was arranged by Rounders Logistics (a SteelSoldiers Vendor). Loading the Deuce was an uneventful but wet experience.
The truck driver was schedule...
On the way home from an event last November, the engine in my truck developed a loud knock. I was roughly 20 miles from home when the knock became noticeable while I was driving and wearing hearing protection. The truck made it home that night and has been sidelined until now. My plan was to...

Valence - That's an awesome solution. I figured water would be a problem with a cover over the gun ring cut out.
Camoyj - I haven't seen a gun ring cut out on a soft top either. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
