ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Correct. CAT ET is only a programming tool, it doesn't have the library on it. If you have an active subscription to CAT ET you can pull flash files and check compatibility with the engine which is the focus of the program. CAT does issue physical flash libraries to certain organizations but...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yes on FML and FMM serial based engines (in FMTVs). I covered this in more detail in a past thread. Good reading. rofl https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/3126-w-abs-vs-3116.212526/post-2487456

What Unholy Sorcery Is THIS ?

It's in California and owned by a movie prop business. That truck was one of a few sold from S&S to foreign buyers that didn't follow through. I bid on the sister donor cab for parts and it too was right hand drive but it was sparse for anything truly usable. I was able to acquire a few other...

    Yellow Freight Shuts Down

I can't say I'm displeased at them going under. My local YRC delivery guy said the writing was on the wall since last October and many of the "lifers" had already begun jumping ship. They've had about a 50% misdelivery or damage rate with my LTL shipments. They're the reason my NOS military air...

    Interior grab handles

I've been selling these handles for years and people have been incredibly creative with them. They are designed for the mounting/dismounting off the rear of LMTVs. I've seen HMMWVs, deuces, and more use them. They could be an "oh $hit" handle on the deuce dash. Food for thought.

    Expedition engine?

I covered this in a few past posts and believe the A1 trucks between 2003-2004 would be the clear winners in my opinion. They have the 3126 and fall in a narrow serial range where they received many of the newer truck upgrades that became standard on the 2006+ A1R models. Battery disconnect...

    I'd Rock That Cab

The technical term for the FMTV A2's is "FUGLY". The only truck with more character is the M35A3 which looks suspiciously like Sid the Sloth.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2023 - July VOTE HERE!

Rags to riches story for this ROPS M923A2. It was a 2 year slow burn type project that deserved it. Auction acquired 2 years ago with the help of Wes. She was given to the State of Indiana's Forestry Service but the location was 40 miles off any hardball road. The site was staffed by convict...

    HMMWV Yermo to S TX

It really depends what you're moving and what trailer. I've had 3 HMMWVs hauled at a time and it cost me about $2600. I had time and waited for my price.

Any ideas of current values for a nice M571?

You'll need to share pictures, operational condition, and title status to get a better idea of value. I've seen Gama Goats sell for $3500-$15,000 in the last 3 years. It depends on a lot of factors.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Finished up this project that will make someone's dream come true. This winch model M1078 had a bad engine so I gave it another Cat but from an MTV. With 290 horses under the hood (cab?) and 16.00's it will move. When the turbo spools it puts your butt in the seat. It was painted, doors rebuilt...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I've inadvertently gotten into beekeeping this week with one of my 5 tons. The bees have been impressively busy for only such a short time but allegedly this isn't the first time for this truck to attract a swarm. Fortunately, one of my guys had the equipment and experience to relocate them...
