    Airbags?

I guess it depends on when "back then" was?

    ABERDEEN 2012 ( Only 192 days away)

Made it there and back in one piece. Met some nice people, some not so nice. I think this might just be my last year, after 25 years I have noticed a disturbing trend in the type of people attending these meets. I paid a lot of money for my spot but had to abandon it to avoid a confrontation. I...

    Airbags?

Speddmon, You might want to reread the post I quoted. I was not talking about the OP. This guy says he had a military license to drive all this stuff while still 16. I stand by what I said. CUCV's did not come in service until 84 and by then it would be **** tough to lie you way in at 16 let...

    Airbags?

And how did you get into the military at 16 let alone get a drivers license for all of those vehicles while still 16? I call BS on this one!

    Glow Plug Problems

There have been some lengthy glow plug discussions in the CUCV forums i the last couple of months. There is no limiter switch that I know of. If one plug goes bad the voltage then rises on the rest. If two go bad the voltage rises even higher, see the pattern? If the card is bad and caused them...

The Saga Continues... M1008 front end reassembly

If someone brought a basket case to me it was always going to cost more than if I did the entire job myself since first I have to find all the parts. Then figure out what parts are missing and there are always parts missing, usually little things like bearing nuts, washers, spacers. Stuff that...

The Saga Continues... M1008 front end reassembly

That has got to be one of the easiest front ends to work on. Everything is basic. Any shade tree mechanic would have been able to figure out what was wrong fairly quickly, like hours, not months. It sounds like you took it apart and he is putting it together? I get the impression there is a lot...

    AB-15 /MS 116-117-118 antenna fail

You do not want to be transmitting with a 3:1 match. You could fry the finals in the radio real quick.

    The 10x10 pls is home!

Electrical was my specialty before I retired from automotive work. It is not really all that bad as long as you take the time to think it out. Now Military wiring is real fun! All one color, or in this case it looks like maybe two colors. This is when you use wire marker tags. That is one beast...

    M925 Exhaust Problems

I would cut it in the straight section and then bolt it to the truck on both ends and mark what needs to come out. Cut that out and remount it on the truck and at least tack weld it in several places so you know for sure it will fit when fully welded. Rick

    The Camper Apocalyptic?

I like the idea of the stock tire setup. Unlike the super singles if you get one flat in the rear you are not dead in the water. Also not trying to carry one monster spare. You have four built in spares if it comes down to it. That is one well thought out rig, well done. Rick

    M43 Resurrection

Looking good, .125 extra lift is going to give that motor some real serious grunt in the bottom end as long as the duration stays close to stock. I noticed that when you started it the first time that the exhaust was not hooked up. I usually try to have mine hooked up so I can hear what is...

Red flashing light nstead of the buzzer?

I took over a truck from another driver that had gotten sick, the truck was already running so all I did was the walkaround and gauge check. Picked up a trailer and after about 50 miles the trailer popped a line. The buzzer did not work! surprise!!!!!!Center lane of I-295 and the brakes slam on...

Physical size of fuel tanks 16 vs. 20 gallon

When you think about it 5 gallons spread out over the bottom of the whole tank is a fairly thin layer. Rick

    Glowplug, resistor bypass...fun

You only mention 7 glow plugs. What happened to #8? Someone mentioned burning out the plugs with a manual switch, will not happen with the AC60's as long as you are not feeding them over 12 volts.
