    Gen2 light flickering

Both are correct. The rebuild was what I was figuring on even though the replacement only had 31k reported miles on it. I thought I'd double check with y'all before I tore into them. Thanks!!

    Electrical Issues from a Newbie

:ditto: What Barrman said! Before the computer driven vehicles, brake lights over-rode the Hazards( at least in all the vehicles I drove).

    Gen2 light flickering

Would that be the one on the left or right?? :p With the fast idle on, it pretty much takes care of itself. It's the "something new" that always gets my attention. Thought it might be a loose belt so I've tightened them up, but still going on. Thanks for the input!

    Gen2 light flickering

Does anyone else's Gen2 light flicker on after start-up, right after the glow plugs recycle? This started a couple of months ago. Gen2 light comes on with the key, off at start-up. Voltmeter drops as glow plugs start recycle and rises as they end recycle. That is when the Gen2 light comes on...

    6.2 White Smoke

After I put a replacement 6.2 in my M1009, it blew white smoke at start up. My problem was that the injector pump was out of time(retarded). After placing the IP back on the timing mark it all disappeared. Some do like the timing "a match book cover" to the driver's side of the line. Good luck!

M1009 as rugged reliable transportation candidate

:ditto: The reliability of these vehicles is dependant on your ability to work on them. Read through as many of the threads on the CUCV's as you can, as they have quite a few repeat pecularities, most of which are easy fixes. Good luck on your vehicle search.

    m105 with durabak bed coating

Did you use the OD green? I've used the "sand" on the exterior of my M416(I'll have to post pics soon) and was really interested in using the Durabak OD on the interior of my M1009.

    CUCV glow plug question

If you still have the 24V to 12V resistor connected (it's behind the air cleaner, on the firewall), as one fails, the others will slowly fail. There's is a huge sticky on the GP theory of operation within the CUCV forum of this site. It's great reading!!

No GP Resistor on Oh9. Do I need it?

Sorry, I don't have any pics handy. I found some somewhere on this site, just can't remember where. After removing the rack from the back seat of my m1009, I used the left over cable as a BIG power cable. The resistor is the only thing I removed and it doesn't need to be removed, just...
