I've read that, and all the other threads about m1009s towing. The answers are all divided between the two(m101 or m416). What were the details behind the pintle destruction you witnessed? Mine did fine with a 1000lb safe in an m101a3.
What I was trying to say in my post was, that because we don't need titles for older vehicles, I can have a vehicle completly registered and insured, with license plates before the vehicle is moved anywhere. Once I leave the base, I could turn around, pull up to the gate, and meet all the...
:?Some states do not require titles to register older vehicles. When I recovered my m1009, I drove it home, and it was registered, and insured. Not everyone who drives a truck home from auction is a law breaker.
