I've read that, and all the other threads about m1009s towing. The answers are all divided between the two(m101 or m416). What were the details behind the pintle destruction you witnessed? Mine did fine with a 1000lb safe in an m101a3.

The m1009 pintle assembly will work just fine for towing an m416 or m101a2.

I have group 65's from costco in my m1009. They have worked good so far, but I have only had them about 6 months.

Pretty good unless a civi owner painted it on afterwards. Is the truck tan underneath? Not all desert storm cucvs were painted tan.

Also, I believe that the m101a1 did not introduce the "dump bed" (it does not dump), as the bed is the same as an m101.

:?Some states do not require titles to register older vehicles. When I recovered my m1009, I drove it home, and it was registered, and insured. Not everyone who drives a truck home from auction is a law breaker.
