Sir, it that looks like a trip to good Ole Richmond! Don't know much about the differences, but my "Air Force M35A2C" seems to have been under one of those hangers it's entire 21 year life!
Well cared for indeed. Perhaps our paths might cross in the valley some day soon. I'll be traveling...
Great looking/running trucks in New Mexico w/w went for $3200 at close this afternoon. Several in Alabama w/w went for $1700-2700. Heck I paid over double that for my '88 a year ago. Last ones I bought (2) in Pennsylvania w/w '69 and'71 were $2800+. It depends of course on where you purchase and...
Okay Guys, I ended up the lot (4) from Tobyhanna yesterday. Is anyone close to this location that would be interested in picking them up for me and interested in bringing them four down to Virginia? PM me if interested or possibly trade delivery for an M116A2 or M105A2 in trade. Must be within...
Endorphins rule! That is a great looking truck! I have got to tell you that you will not be sorry - ever! It has been about a year since I picked up my FIRST deuce! An '88 M35A2C. I have had more darn fun in the past year.......If "it" bites you as much as the rest of us, you'll have a winch...
Real nice job Bruce! I hope my bumper turns out half as nice....
I have to do the same on my '88. Cousin was backing up am M105 trailer and jack knifed it applying pressure to the Right Rear Bumper. Split right down the left elevation. He being a sculpter advised he could weld it with a nickle...
This is what your thoughts would look like. I remembered this was posted some time ago here on SS. Might be difficult to p/u coffee at the S-Bucks Drive Thru.....
It'will never Stop......
Hear hear! There is no way to stop it. In one year, I have bought 3 trucks, 11 trailers, and 2 generators. My wife told me when I buy the next one, it better have A/C, heat and a couch!
Yep, almost thought I had that OD Habit it licked. Came close yesterday just...
Recovery Highs......
There is simply nothing better than the flow of endorphins while in process of equipment recovery! My experiences with M200's and M101A2's have been out of Richmond Virginia and the GL staff there have been great as well!
Just over the hill from me. Though I'll have to get a kitchen pass. Maybe if I finish that Bathroom for her this year........Yep, I'll bring a couple 6x6's and drivers. Beautiful Country in this part of Virginia. Bring your fishing poles (fly) as the headwaters of the Rapidan River leads you up...
Thanks again Bruce for the help via cell phone last July. I can honestly say that this advice worked for me while enroute to the shore to participate in a parade.
Shear Pins...Virginia
We too here in Virginia have the same affections for our winched trucks! Recently, I had installed a 10k on my 88' M35A2C from a '71. My cousins and I learned that we could recover timber that had been blown over utilizing the winch and block from the road. Sheare pins are...
If they ask why.....
If someone asks, "Why or what would compell you to own such a truck," They wouldn't understand your answer! So when people ask this, I simply say, "With all due respect, if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."
Odee, I felt this way myself couple months back in Pennsylvania. The one I drove 187miles bach to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia was a '71 Kaiser with 54k. Air temp a week prior to Thanksgiving was 28degrees that morning as we drove the three+ hours north @ 0308. Heater was too much for me so...
Yepper, I had the same reply. I was asked what exactly I did with my "show truck" when not on parade. I explained just light duty around the farm. Sawmill products hauler for fence repairs, hay hauler to the bottom 20, pulling fallen trees out of the pines with the newly installed winch! Running...
Powerful Times of Need.....
Doghead, thanks for the links! Recently picked up a couple of these genny sets myself. I have been ghosting these for a year or so and have determined that if GL lists more than 100 or so, chances are you will find they can be won at a far better price. Hours ranged...
Jasper has a replacement crate motor drop shipped for around $2200! I asked could I get a core credit (usually $5-600) NO GO was the reply as there is not a demand for them....Oh well.
Brake Rebuild
40 miles into a 167 mile trip last month, I realized I was having similar problems. Turns out there is a meaning behind "DRAIN TANKS DAILY". Seems as condensation contaiminated the brake system and the brake cylinders needed to be rebuilt. Simple but time consuming.......
Looks like a late Charlie Model you have there! Mine has the pintle hitch (front mount) as well. All I want to complete at this time is the winch and then a hydrallic dump for the rear bed.
