Won't the PTO still spin while the wheels are slipping? If you're stuck and not making progress because you can't get enough traction, you'd still have a spinning PTO right?
Or is it not fast enough to pump an effective amount of fluid?
Circumventing the rules would be one thing. Figuring out what the objections are and rectifying them is another.
Once the media decides to tell a narrative, it won't matter if it's on road or at an ORV park. The truth will matter little.
Depends where you live. Cutting down a random tree on your property in Redmond, WA can cost you thousands in fines. Anyone with more than 10 acres must keep 65% of it in the natural vegetative state permanently in King County, WA. California can be even worse.
Anybody know if WA's "We mirror CA environmental laws automatically" law will apply to this: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?100330-California-Title-Registration-Diesel-Smog-Law-and-GL-loadout-info-for-M35-Deuce-5-Ton&p=1640675#post1640675

The requirements are pretty well laid out.
And if you're west of the mountains, feel free to PM me the name so I know where not to go. I hate to say it, but when the first estimate was off by 300% and no authorization was...
FWIW, this can be done without moving the transmission, but it wasn't fun the first time.
The steps I took:
Unhook Transmission oil line to cooler engine block (Figure 141, Part 24). This helped give extra slack when maneuvering PTO
Drain Transmission oil per TM.
Remove Transmission Dipstick...
So, the support arm for the spare tire davit is bent. Like this when I got the truck. It's the collapsible version.
This results in the tire not quite being raised high enough when I'm pulling it back in.
While I've been able to use a cum-along to get around this problem, any hints on how to...
So yes, I looked in the TM first.
I'm putting a PTO on a M923 Allison MT654. The oil line for the PTO...
From the TM, there should be an elbow w/ a tap in it at the return port to the transmission. Mine of course doesn't have the tap, but is a normal 90 degree elbow. I can go get a new elbow...
Well, there's what everyone calls "over building" and building to spec.
Problem in understanding is spec usually has some extra in it, unless you're building disposable crap for use in Harbor Fright.
Example: I'm standing in the boom of an tower ladder up ~120 feet flowing water out of the...
Wouldn't matter anyways.
If chains required except AWD, AWD is required to carry one set of chains.
WA-542 and WA-410 require all vehicles carry chains in all conditions 11/1 to 4/1.
Like I said, it's a complex diagram.
Had to pass on a group event on 11/1 since it required crossing the...
I think the 10K restrictions will trump the AWD. But call WSP... They'll be the ones stopping and turning you around.
Heck, 3/4 the time they're not even setup enforcing whatever restriction WSDOT has in place. Of course, the worst I've driven in going to Snoqualmie was when there was no...
