My truck does not have a heater and it starts right up down as low as 9 deg. without any assistance. I think the success of these heaters is because people are putting them on trucks that don't need them. We have a member in upstate NY right now who tried one from West and it does not work...

I understand the system just fine. Look at the picture of the intake system and look where it is connected on the intake. Then take a vacuum gauge and hook it up to that port and see what it does when the compressor is started. It will surge. It would be a great place to hook a milking machine...

If you want a heater I think you are better off with the freeze plug type. The problem with putting it on the water pump is that heat rises. It will rise to the top of the pump and hit the closed thermostat and that is as far as it will travel... Essentially you are warming the waterpump only...

What ever the problem was it has stopped leaking....may have just been a shrunk gasket from sitting for so long before I got him. The hoses mentioned look great on this truck. Did not see any dates on them, but they have no dry rot or cracking.

I am trying to turn the air pressure up to 120 on my truck, but the compressor kicks out at 98 PSI. Is the compressor adjustable?
