Since this thread was revived here's my Donaldson install while I was working on a 24087 makeover earlier this fall. Note, I have elephant ear mirrors which did not require any modification. After some careful J pipe trimming I was able to use the original clamp on the top and just add one on...
First big storm here in Southern Maine, glad you guys out west have been taken the brunt of the winter for us. [thumbzup] The snow here is piling up in the corners where it gets trapped by the wind.
Normally I'd plow every six-eight inches of accumulation but the wind is blowing like crazy so...
I admire your ingenuity. Until now I had no idea there was a flue going up through the middle of a gas hot water heater.
What are you doing to maintain water pressure, or are you plumbed into city supplied water?
I've had similar thoughts and go through the same weather you do, but my 5500/8500 gas generator does a great job for what I need. With backup wood heat and no air conditioning requirements I can go a week of intermittent use on 10 gallons of gas. My biggest power needs are the well and septic...
Nice work! It had never occurred to me you could take off the outers to clear stands under the edges of the box. That has given me a lot to think about. Someday I'd like to rig some sort of cradle that allows me to swap the M109 box with a bed.
Best of luck lining it up when you put the box...
I witnessed a guy show up without a load out appointment, it was fun to watch. :) Kevin's a good guy. My wife made him cupcakes to bring on my second trip to pickup a trailer there.
Park in the median in front of the GL location. Kevin will bring the trailer to you and lower it onto your...
I'm a big fan of Boss Plows with the RT3 Hitch. I have one for a 93' Yukon.
I just called my local Boss Plow dealer and he says he can get the mounts for the 79-87 Chevys for $560 plus freight. I don't know about the military Blazer sway bar fit issue.
Attached is the RT3 mount installation...
Greetings from a former exclave of Massachusetts! My grandfather's family is in Billerica and my wife has an office in Marlborough she visits once a week. Also have some friends who went to WPI and currently live in Oxford.
I may be hitching a ride down soon with my wife just so I can go to...
You have a valid point there papercu, however no safety issues were raised, to my knowledge, by the GL employees. They just didn't think it would fit. But items can be secured in cars, they can carry up to 5 160lb secured objects. Again you're right, I should have insisted that she tie down...
My wonderful sister-in-law went to pick up a towbar at Ft Campbell for for me this morning, she lives just a couple miles off base. Normally my brother would help out but he's in Afghanistan. Anywho, I had talked to Mike from GL there last week who said helping her load a towbar into my SIL's...
Kohburn I believe installed an aeroturbine xl (search fu)
I muffled my C with the Donaldson, standing next to it at idle you wouldn't think its a C turbo. It only whistles when you rev RPMs and the screaming down the road is all but gone. It's still a loud truck, just doesn't sound like an...
I rotated the fly wheel today with the help of my wife spotting the gear teeth for me. We had the fuel stop pulled out, transfer case in neutral, transmission in high gear, parking brake on, wheels chocked, etc while I rotated the drive shaft coming out of the transmission with a large screw...
Thanks guys!
Sounds like "Jolene" is getting a new starter for Xmas. If I see any carnage after rotating the fly wheel I'll be sure to post the pics...
It's been grinding intermittently which seemed to be better when I replaced a bad battery, but then it started grinding again. Finally I decided to park it where the snow plow won't hit it and dig in.
Wondering what you guys think of the damage here. I plan to rotate the flywheel for a more thorough inspection when my better half gets home tomorrow. Thanks...
Oh for crying out loud, are you going to put a dress on your truck too? :p
Just kidding, nice mod. I was harassing a work buddy this morning about his luxurious Dodge Ram 2500 with heated mirrors, that where the dress bit came from. Just don't tell anyone I thought it was cool.
