Make sure the #54 wire is connected to the IP and gets 24v when the ignition switch is turned on. If it isn't the engine positively will not start. This is one of the simplest security measures.

It would have been nice if he had left some of the AM-65s and RT-70 together. They make up a nice RT/intercom setup for vehicles. Low power and don't take up much space. I hope the dogbones haven't gotten lost.

Gentlemen,
These lights are Light Emitting Diodes and are definitely polarity sensative as any diode is. The harness will make sure you get + voltage to the connectors but without good grounds the lights won't work. Something else people tend to forget is that you need to ground BOTH...

RF-5061-PS001The RF-5061-PS001 is a 12 VDC to 28 VDC DC/DC converter intended for use in 12 VDC vehicles. The RF-5061-PS001 is capableof providing 30 amps at 28 VDC, making it compatible with the Falcon II family of products. The...
Nice find on the power inverter! I could use one with my 117s. I have an older MacKay inverter but it's considerably larger than that one.
The output cable is a regular CX-4720, it's that input connector that's going to be difficult to find. If you can pull a number off of the connector I'd...
The pots do fail occasionally and aren't too hard to replace. Symptoms include low audio, wobbley shafts, and endless turning.
The PRC-25/77 radios have never been known for great audio and unfortunately their A25 and A55 modules don't interchange. This is the audio amp module located on the...
What you really want to use in this application is a star washer that will bite into the post and the battery to insure good electrical conductivity and mechanical lockdown.

A 17' antenna probably means your running an HF rig in the truck although 18' would be the length of a AT-1011. There's no mention of what radio Katahdin wants to run in his 109 so the answer was meant to be generic. The typical VHF antennas used on military trucks (1729 & 3900) are about 10'...
One of the best locations for the antenna on a duece was just inside the front bumper. This allows the antenna to be tied back for transit but then allows it to stand straight up for commo. It also means the antenna doesn't make any more holes in the shelter. I've also seen the spacer bracket...
Demil "C" is the DODs designator for the removal or disabling of "key points". There is nothing in the Demil "C proceedure that says anything about a vehicle being crushed. Here's a link to the manual: http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/416028m_vol2.pdf Page 93 has the definition...
I put a brand new set of Interstate 6TL batteries in my HMMWV and they only lasted about 16 months. Becasue they're considered "military" batteries they only had a 12 month warranty. REALLY pissed me off because of their price and since the previous set lasted 6 years. I picked up another set of...
Here's a link to a PulseTech battery charge monitor. PulseTech is the company that's been supplying the Solargizers to the military for years now. This particular unit lists for over $800 but they showed up on the GL market a short while back for some reason and now they're here. I installed one...
Gentlemen, Send me a PM with your email address and I'll reply with your manuals. I don't think there's any way to upload them to SS. Heck Bruce, you aughta know this.................

As a followup on this post the lamp numbers you can use are either 327 or 387, both of these are 28 volt lamps. The 387 is a slightly heavier duty bulb but the 2 will interchange without problems. Depending on who makes them thay might have a CM (Chicago Miniature) or GE before the number but...
To clarify a couple of things mentioned here. You can't transform DC, only AC. Inverters are typically used to convert low voltage DC to high voltage AC. Converters or regulators are used to convert or regulate one DC voltage to a lower DC voltage although there are some new converters called...
A typical symptom of a blown head gasket is bubbling in the overflow tank when the engine is running. There were a whole series of HMMWV engines with weak sidewall castings in the #8 cylinder but I think this is only related to early turbo engines. If you have an original 6.2 that's never had...
