    Project Ferro Navy M37

Is the frame/suspension/undercarriage going to get any love as well? I see a beautiful body resto coming along but the chassis is looking a little unloved.... :(

Red Ball rally in Gilbert PA, Sep 2014 - who's going?

If you are set up, it's slowly turning into a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday show. Which is great! More days to enjoy with friends and green iron. Working on the Vietnam display, might have more news on that in a separate thread.

Red Ball rally in Gilbert PA, Sep 2014 - who's going?

Only two months or so until one of the best rallies on the East Coast happens! Who's attending this year?

2014 Va Rally at Graves Mountain Aug 29-Sept 1, 2014 (aka, Labor Day Weekend).

My daughter and I will be there again. She is hoping that Karl shows up again with the halftrack, she liked getting a ride in it last year!

help me design a radio shelter

Not recently, don't you worry - when I have some more development on this end, I'll be happy to post pics and more info when it happens. For now, it's on hold while I am working as much as I can this summer, once the weather cools, my work will slow and I'll have more free time to build toys.

Weare NH Merrimack Valley Rally July

Art told me this is a nice little show. Hope to attend someday. One of my vacation destination spots is the Northeast, Boston, VT/NH, and the National Park areas of Maine. Perhaps next year this would be a good trip to take, to visit the NE and get in the Weare show at the same time!

    715 wheels value

$50 for the pair. The rims aren't getting any more common, but they are often modified or re-centered to allow users modern non-locking-rim wheels and radial tires with no tubes. The tires are useless, except as spares, and even then they are pretty marginal.

Possibly No More Trucks from DLA

Does anyone have any background information on the types/models of trucks that would not meet EPA emissions requirements? I thought older trucks were exempt due to age, and as time rolls on less and less of the older vehicles are on the road, so time ensures that the older trucks that are...

saving military communications gear at hamfests

Another weekend, another hamfest. This time was the Manassas VA hamfest on June 8th. Beautiful weather and a good turnout, LOTS of military gear there, mostly WWII to 1950s. I was primarily there to sell some oddball things for a friend, ended up being a bust for me re: sales, but I didn't...

2014 haspin info thread, June 11-15th

Well, I'm officially out. I really wanted to go, but I have to work next week. Plus, it costs $300 or so for me to make the trip, and as things stand I won't be able to swing it in time, not even close. So, I'll just save up for Haspin 2015. Have a great time, folks.

Taking home a KraZ 214b - need some help finding front axle shafts

Best option I'd recommend - these guys are specialists in exporting Russian-originated vehicles, including SPARE PARTS. Might be worth following up with them: http://www.mortarinvestments.eu/information/service/spare-parts#currency=USD

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Wow, it amazes me to no end how you have been able to make such a respectable restoration in such a short period of time, while keeping it true to its original form. Keep up the great work - can't wait to see it all polished up (so to speak) and done!

How many CUCV II's were produced?

So, I take it there is no official numbers available outside of GM records? Guess they made so many CUCV 1s in the mid-80s that the II's weren't really needed by anyone in great quantities.

How many CUCV II's were produced?

Got a call from a friend yesterday not far from me, he bought a pickup a while back and he says he wants me to look at it, says I'd "find it interesting". Upon inspection, it was a 1998 Chevrolet CUCV II. The paint was white, but it was a repaint so not sure of the original markings/livery...

Dump troop seats in standard cargo bed

I think you're going to have to be a little more descriptive of what the problem is, and what you plan to do. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

    Aberdeen 2014

I don't forget you, Ollie! Since I typed the above, I remembered about 5 other Steel Soldiers I missed in my initial list. I have Old-Timers-Disease, it comes and goes... BTW, those were some great cigars! I'll have a few for you next rally at Gilbert.

    Aberdeen 2014

Once again, had a great time at the show. It's one of the few times of the year I can get together with my friends and enjoy my hobby, sell off a few things I don't need to make a couple bucks, and relax a little more than usual. Lost 2 wheel studs on the trip (!!!), but torqued the rest down...

2014 haspin info thread, June 11-15th

1 person in my group tentatively, maybe 2 if I can convince a friend to go with me. 1 vehicle, but no offroading for it.
