Yeah they both rode home great. The one with the tarp is actually in really good shape. The dropside needs some work including an axle seal and brake work. Tach doesn't work at all on that truck so you are a step ahead of me. And she starts hard so I think she is due for some new fuel filters...
2 or 3 years ago the Forest service auctioned off a bunch of 2.5 and 5 ton brush trucks in Morehead KY. I had to work that day and figured they would bring big bucks so I skipped the auction. I called later to see what the going rate on them was and they all went for under 600.00 each...
Yeah Jim I am all cleared... Unfortunately my schedule did not work out so I could pick them up this week and we are headed back to Vermont this weekend...so they have to wait until the 30th.

I guess with those trucks having been out there so long and 60 or so still waiting on EUCs what is an extra two trucks for a few extra weeks? I offered to pick them up any day next week except Tuesday or Thursday and he said he wanted to wait until the 30th.

My impression of the ad is that it is a scammer phishing for email addresses. I never respond to anything on craigslist that is either too good to be true or does not include a phone number.
Only if your French;-) I am from Vermont and have called them snowmobiles my entire life. Just pick up an It's Classified or Green Mountian Trading post and look at the heading for "Snowmobiles". If that is not enough proof for you visit VAST's (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) web site...
Power steering would be nice, but it is a very involved undertaking. Keep in mind that these rigs have an absolute top speed of 55 MPH.... Reality is that they are hard pressed to do 50 mph under normal driving conditions.
