Mixed feelings here for sure, but a person has to do what a person has to do and I respect that.
I hate to see them cut up, yet, I cut one down to a bobber myself as it is just more to my liking.
I have tripled my investment in it since, so my thinking was I am making it better, not worse, and...
You just gotta decide for yourself, and do what you gotta do.
Much consideration, in your case, should go to your intended useage.
I bobbed my third one, because I think they're cool and reveal the diversity of what can really be done with these trucks. If I wanted something closer to a rock...
This is another project I was working on today. Didn't get very far. The rubber lines were cut inside the cab. I looked under the hood, and it appears the hardline goes to the air breather. HUH?
So I go back in the cab, put my finger over the hardline where the rubber hose was taken off, and I...
They are all made to the same standard.
I would just have dataplates.net make you a new plate with a manufacturer name on it and use it to get it registered if your GL paperwork does not list a manufacturer.
If you learn how to cook a pig properly, it is better then fillet mignon.
They are easier to work on then a Ford or a Chevy. Just require bigger tools.
Enjoy what you cook up.
You probably did, but I'm sure it's forgotten about. This is a pretty thick skinned group of guys who can take it, and apologies usually mean its all over and forgotten about.
Thanks for being BIG about it. Makes for a better world!
Adapters are $500 shipped from CCEquipment. Who charges $900?
That IS a very labor intensive process, but if you do it yourself, you can save.
Some people have noted they don't wish to do this for safety reasons.
I'm no expert on these kinds of things and don't pretend to understand it.
Good...
A F350 with 235/85/16s. Wow. I'm really surprised, or, maybe I misunderstood.
Anyway, another option, is sell it and get a M1101/1102 and put GMC 2500 wheels on it.
I've done that. It helps, but I don't like the shiny alum wheels so I took them back off.
You're not going to get a M105A2 level...
My bobbed deuce with 395s is more comfortable to drive at 65 then at 45, due to steering concerns. Braking is not an issue. It becomes an issue if pulling a M105 without the air lines hooked up and it fully loaded. It is not an issue unloaded. The bobbed deuce will stop it quickly.
I try all...
Surprising how that big ole tanker almost looks "small" next to that tractor.
It always looks huge to me when walking around one by itself.
Good job. (I know that bridge).
Clean, clean, clean, then put on JB Weld on a hot day. Available at Lowes.
I had a hand sized chunk busted out of my transmission in my dump truck from a floppy PTO. The epoxy welded it right in and I never had a leak. I was shocked when my welder told me about it. It was about 90 degrees...
All you have to do is bring some of your excess junk, errrr, treasures in green iron.
Someone will buy them. You got fuel money.
I bought more than I sold.
There's enough methane under the continental shelf to last us for the next 200 years. Seems to me we would be better off burning a big ole fart then smelling it. I say put it and natural gas in the tank. Not sure Detroit will ever really let that happen. Even with $billions in lithium for cheap...
I yearn for the day when I can invest in Natural Gas. We're just not ready yet, unfortunately.
Maybe in 5-6 years, but I doubt it. It would take a horrible disaster to get us going in the right direction.
