Does anyone know the width, hub to hub, on a M561? I know the width is listed at 84" (7') but believe that's the widest and appears to be measured at the fenders. Just curious as I'm leaving in the morning for the recovery and my trailer is 6' 11.5" at the fender wells. Worst case scenario is...
Apparently. I dont know why it would have closed late though. I put the bid in around 4pm Central time then headed to town to meet up with the wife. I was shocked when I got home and had the other one as it sounded like someone had been sniping it.
Thanks Larry. If what has been talked about is true then all 12 wheels/tires should be there. The one I thought I bought that was missing a wheel apparently isn't one of the 2 that I actually got.
We'll be passing a little north of you but I'll wave as we cross the AL/GA line.
Well it turns out I did buy two after all. Both had the same photo and word from another thread is that the photo in both of the auctions isn't the photo of either of the ones I bought. If that's true then I wound up with the best and the worst of the lot. They yellow one at Crossnore was...
I was hoping for a sympathy vote as my M561 Gama Goat purchase from GSA fell through due to their "material misrepresentation" (their words) of the condition of it, but it turns out I got another one so maybe I should get the sympathy vote for having gotten a M561 Gama Goat.
Thanks. The parts vehicles comment was to NDTs post. Do you remember if the one I got is missing more than just the wheel and tire (ie is the hub there?)
Not trying to collect an actual herd but wanted one. Are parts available from the ones near you? I know this latest one is missing at least 1 wheel and tire.
Most states it's the "capacity" not what it actually weighs while you're driving it. As each state has their own guidelines though, it's probably best if you contact someone at the DMV that actually works with commercial vehicles and ask them versus a bunch of guys in different parts of the...
Well my discretionary spending amount just went up as I can add about $1500 in recovery expenses to what I'd spend on one. Better that it happened now than after I drove 1800 miles to get it.
The Auction Gods give and the Auction Gods take away.
I was just contacted by GSA and told that the auction description was substantially misleading and incorrect. A large amount of the 561 I bid on had been salvaged prior to the auction. Rather than have an issue with disputing the sale they...
Department of Lands or Forestry. Almost all of them at the auction had something similar (and all looked locally produced). I think it's more "overhead protection" than actual ROPS although it would probably help to some degree in a rollover.
Too much to make it worth driving from WY for. A new one in this area goes for around $2k but I'm still asking $1500 for mine (redecked in 2012, rear landing legs, additional D-ring tie-down points).
