    2013 Haspin Discussion Thread

And 4 years from now, CGarbee retires from his job in for NC-DOT, and he says then he can attend all the rallies he wants to, which hopefully means CATERED HASPIN again! Let's cross our fingers and hope for the day...

    2013 Haspin Discussion Thread

clinto is laughing right now. He's been holding a rally in October that has gotten bigger no matter the year, Haspin on the other hand is still big, but seems to be losing the core people who made it great in the first place. Economy? Lack of interest? I don't know. I want to not blame it...

MV Ham Radio Equipment Pic thread?

Believe me when I tell you, the question is not what ham radios we install in our vehicles, but how we are able to hear anything when operating them over the din of the engine noise. In the larger MVs, headphone operation or an amplified loudspeaker are almost required to hear your radio...

    Creosote?

If you HAD to run your deuce on some creosote in order to use it up, I'd throw only a gallon or two into a full tank of diesel at a time, to dilute it. The petroleum distillates in the creosote scares me as far as running it as a pure fuel. But diluted, it should be fine.

    Creosote?

I lived at a place that had a Taylor stove outside, we burned creosote-soaked telephone poles in it all the time. The creosote didn't seem to gum anything up, and it burned nicely, but I will say that I wouldn't consider burning it in a stove INDOORS. The Taylor stove is designed to take all...

6/8/13 - Breakfast in Eldersburg, Maryland

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to come up much anymore for the foreseeable future. Part of the reason I made the trek most of the time was my brother lived in Frederick, MD and I'd come up for the weekend to visit him, and then going to the breakfast was another 40 minutes up the...

Antenna bracket mounting - simple cheap parts from hardware store.

Looks good! I have a question, though. Yours is similar to the original style brad holes that came from the factory. Why not, when installing the antenna mount, just drill 4 bolt holes the size of the holes on the mount, through the fender, and use nuts/bolts/washers as any normal body part?

    2013 Haspin Discussion Thread

My truck is down for major repairs, hope to get it back up and running this weekend. I can't get out there if I can't drive something! :)

    Experimental 5/4t? - XM705

With an estimate 20-30 made, and I've seen 4-5, that gives a survival rate of about 20%, and that's pretty darn good for an experimental vehicle. I doubt 20% of all the M37's ever made are still driving around.

    Experimental 5/4t? - XM705

How many of these XM705s were built? I have seen about 4-5 come up over the years, makes me wonder how many "experimental prototypes" were made by GM for testing before they lost the bid.

anyone recommend a good ham radio-only forum out there?

Looking to find more information out there on the web related to ham radios and military radios, specifically custom homebrew projects, old iron (boat anchors), restorations, maintenance, etc. Can anyone out there recommend a good forum on the internet that is similar in layout to this (any...

    Shelter to Camper Conversion....

Hey Juergen, what computer program did you use in the 1st post to create a 3d model of your build design? I am trying to model my shelter build and, other than chicken scratch drawings by hand on beer napkins, I don't have anything that can display what I want to show like you have.

Dear God what have i done

If it says they run in the description, then odds are they were driven into the lot and you should have no problems. It's when the description says "does not run" you have to worry. I'd still bring lots of oil, coolant, diesel fuel, and tools when it's time to truck them home. And just...

Dear God what have i done

I owned 9 deuces at one time, around 2008. I said the same thing after I won about 4 of them at one time out of Chambersburg, PA. "What the heck am I thinking?" Well, either you have the money, or you HAD the credit, if you can get them home safe and sound, look them over, fix up two of them...
