That truck has a 16speed air shift transmission

    M939 series truck N14 swap

Personally from what I have heard is run 16.00s on a m920a0e1 (m920 but had a 7 speed automatic Alison). Easy to drive and lots of power and payload.

    M939 series truck N14 swap

@simp5782 may have a few for sale. The m915 is the 6x4 version of the m916 sits taller and has 6x6. The m920 is a longer version of the m916 with a drop axle. There are may diferebt types of each truck available such as a1 a0 a2 a3 a4r2 ext. A dealer will be much more expensive than an individual.

CTIS over speed lamp lights up

Can you point me in the direction for a more in detail forum on how to change settings on a m939a2 ctis unit?

    M939 series truck N14 swap

I personally wouldn't if you don't need to. Seems like a lot of hassle and tire wear for minimal results.

    M939 series truck N14 swap

No CTIS. If you really need CTIS then you are definitely taking that truck in the wrong spots. It is a 6x6 truck with a drop axle but I believe he was saying was to add another drive axle. They are fairly simple and bulletproof from what Ive read and experienced with my m915. Simp had some...

    M939 series truck N14 swap

I agree with simp. A m920 probably won’t have as good offroad capabilities but wayyyy easier to just buy a m920 with a 7 speed and a big cam 400.

    M939 series truck N14 swap

An a2 truck will be different than an a1 truck because an a1 truck has a doghouse.

    M939 series truck N14 swap

@simp5782 Would be your expert. He swapped a 400 bic cam into his m923a1. From what I've read you need to raise the cab and hood 2 or more inches and swap the transmission and most likely the transfer case. (Transmission is weak and transfercase will crack with the torque. Oshkosh 55000 transfer...

LMTV wheel CTIS on a 5 Ton

Be my guest. Open the trails up a little bit.

LMTV wheel CTIS on a 5 Ton

Well he was the line leader. Windrock just isn’t designed for a 8.5ft wide truck.

LMTV wheel CTIS on a 5 Ton

Thanks! I don’t want to pay for new ctis components when I go through a mud hole or skid against a rock and get mud in my hub and have to rebuild my front hubs all the time.

    Simp's M920 build thread

(axles under your work truck are valuable) Wes: Just cut off the back half of the truck we'll figure it out later.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - October VOTE HERE!

Y’all don’t even know how much time I have in my m932a2 :ROFLMAO:. I’ll have to find photos later but had to take the 5th wheel off, swap from g177s to 395s on lmtv wheels. Rebuilt all the wheels and drilled and tapped all the valve stems for a Schrader valve on the back side of the wheel so I...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Breaking and tapping the parts that go on the hubs with custom length hose and a adapter from the lmtv ctis valve to the hose.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Would anyone be interested in a conversion kit to run ctis on a 5 ton with lmtv wheels? I figured out a way and works great.

The official 2022 Southeast Military Vehicle Rally information thread (the event formerly known as the Georgia Rally). This is gonna' be awesome!

@Elijah95 and I were tearing up the trails and some are definitely not meant for trucks as big as ours but with enough planning it wasn’t too bad. Your tires will definitely take a beating and so will your back with all the rocks. Overall had a fun trip.
