That truck has a 16speed air shift transmission

Personally from what I have heard is run 16.00s on a m920a0e1 (m920 but had a 7 speed automatic Alison). Easy to drive and lots of power and payload.

@simp5782 may have a few for sale. The m915 is the 6x4 version of the m916 sits taller and has 6x6. The m920 is a longer version of the m916 with a drop axle. There are may diferebt types of each truck available such as a1 a0 a2 a3 a4r2 ext. A dealer will be much more expensive than an individual.

Can you point me in the direction for a more in detail forum on how to change settings on a m939a2 ctis unit?

I personally wouldn't if you don't need to. Seems like a lot of hassle and tire wear for minimal results.

I agree with simp. A m920 probably won’t have as good offroad capabilities but wayyyy easier to just buy a m920 with a 7 speed and a big cam 400.

An a2 truck will be different than an a1 truck because an a1 truck has a doghouse.

From what I've read you need to raise the cab and hood 2 or more inches and swap the transmission and most likely the transfer case. (Transmission is weak and transfercase will crack with the torque. Thanks! I don’t want to pay for new ctis components when I go through a mud hole or skid against a rock and get mud in my hub and have to rebuild my front hubs all the time.

Breaking and tapping the parts that go on the hubs with custom length hose and a adapter from the lmtv ctis valve to the hose.

Would anyone be interested in a conversion kit to run ctis on a 5 ton with lmtv wheels? I figured out a way and works great.

@Elijah95 and I were tearing up the trails and some are definitely not meant for trucks as big as ours but with enough planning it wasn’t too bad. Your tires will definitely take a beating and so will your back with all the rocks. Overall had a fun trip.
