I don't use twitter or facebook either, but do understand, it is the thing of the present.
Just because we're behind the times doesn't mean we can't learn, and if we want to remain a dinosaur in todays high tech environment, it doesn't mean others should have to give us special treatment and...
POR-15 is excellent.
I use white vinegar on all my tools and rusty metals that are portable and I can lay down horizontally. It will mosty just run off on vertical surfaces, and not cling long enough to do the job I desire.
It need sit on the metal for about 15 minutes, then wire brush off...
Great way to power up a couple of 60W light bulbs in the dark, but much more valuable as a museum piece. Please make sure it gets a good home if you don't use it yourself, or donate to a museum if you're so inclined. It's a keeper!
State of the Art for it's time! Like Microwave ovens, some new...
Maybe someone can help you develop a parts list for the job, order the parts, and just go up to your local truck repair center with truck and parts. They will do it for you. And if you meet the mechanics, ask them if they do any moonlighting. Answer: heck yes, and you can get an even better...
Ahhhh, so you bougth Ian's treasure. He has a regular motorpool out there.
Went to the Keys for July 4th week. I Love paradise! Saw a nice old Military Jeep or two down there. Never saw a deuce, but I'm sure they're down there. Congrats. You might get out when others can't, but don't know about...
Its not what you can tow.
Its what you do tow. So if youre towing over 10k its considered commercial and yes you do need a class A.
There are exceptions for farmers, firemen and rvs on weight restrictions of the primary vehicle.
Even in Cslifornia, one of the strictest states in the nation, you...
Dennis
It has to weigh over 26k pounds.
The deuce is less than 14k pounds so it is exempt from cdl requirements.
Trailering has to be less than 10k pounds though.
So a deuce trailering a deuce may require one.
Only thing I can tell ya to keep it cool is to pull out the thermostat.
But later you are going to have to get to the essense of the real problem.
Also make sure your belts are appropriately tightened.
That is a cool truck. I keep getting more and more excited about all the different possibilities of this hobby as some of you guys show up with your new toys. I love it.
I'm just curious. How long did it take to drill out those six holes in the bumper with that drill and bit? I must be doing...
One black. XL
SWBradley, it BETTER be you. Just tell your bosses you gotta important mission to do.
Wouldn't be the same without ya!
And dangit, that would be a long two way drive for me to make a kidnapping if you don't show up.
I just let them tell me what plates to use on the 13000 pound truck, and they told me I had to have commercial plates. State Farm, who insured it before the plates were procured, insured it and listed it as commercial. I don't know what is right or what is wrong though. The Ga. DMV is not the...
OK. I'll save the dataplates.
The gauges are made by Equus and purchased from O'Reilleys auto parts.
The fuel guage does not work as the sender is still original and set up for 24v, so I didn't change it out. Not sure how it would read with 12vdc in lieu of 24vdc. I might be able to put a...
Which M101? M101A1? A2? Surely not the A3.
I don't have those flat plates on my M101A2. Never seen them on any M101A3.
Never seen a M101A1 closeup in person, but I'll probably own one before the end of the month.
They just don't look like they belong to any trailer. Maybe someone else will be...
Well today I put together my one man power brake flush system for under $20 from Ace hardware. It is the 1/2 gallon version and uses a 1/4X1/2"MIP adapter which is a perfect fit and there is no drilling required. It only took about 5 minutes to put it together.
I also got my instrument panel...
Great job helping out. You should be proud.
Next time, unless it is imminent life or death, do NOT drive that truck or any other with the temp gauge pegged out unless you want to start walking. Better than to be smart, cool it off, go again, then to waste an engine. Next time, pull over and if...
