Open peacock valve at bottom of fuel filter and pressurize tank until fuel runs out. Close valve and give it a try. This worked for me.
if fail, it could be the "rack" on top of engine. A cat mechanic buddy of mine told me that mis adjusted rack will cause hard or no starts.

Turbo Tim bought an A3 from me last winter. I picked this A3 up from GL as a truck was a "did not start" unit. She looked barely used. Outside of the missing drive shafts and blown head gasket, she seemed to be a good truck. Not wanting another project, I sold it to Tim. He got her running in...
RedBull Wrecker and M932. I work both of these on my land. Recently popped a front tire on the wrecker when I drove over a buckthorn stump. Used the crane to assist in the tire change out.

Standard A3 tire outside diameter is about 43". So, 43 x 3.14 (pi)=135.03" or 11.25 foot. So for every wheel revolution, the truck moves forward 11.25 feet.
Engine at 2,700 RPM and 1: 1 ratio to rear end and 6.72 rear end ratio, we get 401.78 revolutions of the wheel at 2,700 RPM.
401.25...
My MK48 was originally hooked to a 14 trailer. The unit came out of Jacksonville. I have recently swapped out the 14 with an 18 trailer. Unit was fresh rebuild and works perfect. I drive mine at 40 MPH and enjoy the ride.
