There are 2 identical 24 volt relays in the MEP control box, one to the starter, the other to the glow plugs, etc. Would what you suggest be doable by adding a third identical relay, (this third one off the existing relay to the preheat system)?

Sometimes we just like to commiserate on the value of our efforts to resurrect these machines. Seems to add value to our cooperative efforts.

I use an interlock kit on the main panel. Can't wire your generator through a sub-panel. You get 26 amps 240, 52A 120. 40 amp breaker is fine as gen feed to main panel, protected by interlok kit. IMHO, of course.

depends. mine was free. Remember it is going to a scrap yard. Maybe $20-30? Talk to the sevice manager or owner and tell him what you are needing it for and he may want to help you and make suggestions himself.
Need wire to the generator and a wired quad outlet. stuff you likely have. I...
Seems high to me also. Welcome to the board. I think the 002a would meet your needs. Might have to do a bit of power management but that is what emergencies are for.

If you know anyone in the HVAC business, when they replace air handler portion heat pumps, they scrap the emergency backup electric heat portion. (The actual blower connected to the duct work.) It has heat strips like a toaster. The one I have has 2 strips, each is 5kw. I connect one for the...
A couple of hair driers (gun type) into the 2" ports for several hours might donthe trick as might a heat gun. I use a hair drier on the smaller tanks. Could boil it out with wood fire also since it needs paint anyway.
Knew I had done some for you. Didn't know it was for this machine. Speddmon's right. It will give you a reason to find that A on the flywheel again, and the B.

I have a son off Broad Run Church Road, Warrenton/Vint Hill Station area.

Just realized I made a mistake regarding you being near Broad Run. Was chatting with a fellow from there a few minutes ago and that was where he was from. After I posted I realized you are out near Staunton.
You are fine with that much slop. Good to go. If you can't get a full load and your governor is adjusted, you need to get your injectors adjusted. hehehe

WAIT. The bit goes into the slot cut into the IP gear. When it is seated (before you try to mount the pump) there is very little play if you try to turn the toothed end of the IP. With the bit sunk in the IP, you then install with the pointer in the center of the letters PC. Shouldn't be...
It is truly addicting. I've had 13 MEPs, still have 5 with 3 load tested 002s available. I looked up White Post and noted that you are not that far away. I was in Staunton last Tuesday picking up my newest auction acquisition from the Western State looney bin. Kind of looks like a UPS truck...
A and B are used for valve adjustment. PC is for pump timing and it is critical to be dead on it. Use the 1/8" drill bit to ensure the IP parts don't move.

I know nothing about the 802/803. Do they use same injectors as 002/003? Someone here will know the answer.
If not the same, are the fuel connections the same? If so, with pressure specs, I can adjust them. If not the same.I'd need a fuel line from a scrap unit to build a test capability...
