    Curse this infernal wiring!!

I swear, EVERY time I fix something electrical on this blazer, something else breaks in 1 week or less. This time, the starter wouldn't start the engine. It sounded like It wouldn't enguage the teeth on the flywheel. So I took it off, looked at it, smelled it, put it back in and it works just...

Will a Deuce fit my, umm "lifestyle"?

Great, I was hoping it would be good news. Sounds like some of you guys have it worse than me haha, and can enjoy it. Wreckerman, thats a pretty good deal, especially if I don't have to go through that GL paperwork. Right now, I don't have a place to park it and I am busy...

Will a Deuce fit my, umm "lifestyle"?

Will a Deuce fit my, umm "lifestyle"?

Cool, glad to hear it. Yeah this one is at a state/fed surplus place in Iowa that won't sell any of the cool stuff like the deuce or a cucv other military surplus to regular people. They don't know what anything is worth either. Sounds like another government scam to me. This one is...

Will a Deuce fit my, umm "lifestyle"?

Hey Deuce guys, I've been thinking about joining the cool crowd. I'd hate to sound like a little kid. But I'm in my second year of college, 3-4 years to go ha ha  , aww  . So I wouldn't get one until I have a warehome to call my own. My dad drove all kinds of trucks and went to...

    Battle Scars

Good thing you're ok. Seems like the blazer is a total loss though. I'll be happy to take it off your hands. That way you won't have to worry about fixing it and just get a new one. I'll even pick it up for free 8)

New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????

Hey, it looks like you had the same problem I did. Mine broke right before a fusable link as well. Did your wire break near the diamond shaped junction on the firewall? I replaced it with a fuse holder. I put 30 amp fuses in and they burned out but I have had 40 amps in for about a week...

    Another Alternator problem

Those sound like good ideas, my dad has been working on it while I've been away. He got it to work today by putting in 40amp fuses in the holders. He said the fusable links at OReilly's weren't the same. 30- 40 amps seems like a bit much, but they haven't burned out yet. When I get it...

    Reference check?

$7,000 for an m1009 is pretty steep. Thats about 4 times what I paid for mine. But then again, It is not nearly as clean as the alfa heaven ones.

All the lights are out (1985 m1008) FIXED sorta...

That 10amp 28v fuse was out on my blazer and my lights still worked. However, since I replaced it, My voltmeter now works. Did you check that main light 30amp fuse?

    Where do I stop

Depends how bad it is. If there ar holes, you might want to rivet or weld on some new sheet metal. Or, you can be like me and spray paint over the surface rust to keep it looking nice. I think thats keeping it genuine as the army wouldn't take the time to do it nice. You can't go wrong with a...

Anybody need Blazer M1009 or Pickup M1008 Parts?

Would you be willing to part with the plastic dummy light covers. I need the gen 1, gen 2, coolant, 4wd, and the little ones under the speedo and fuel guage.

    Another Alternator problem

That makes a little more sense, I put 2 In- line fuse holders where the wires fried at the junction block. One goes to the battery and one goes to the gen 1 positive. the other wires are not burned. Those two I put in 30 amp fuses. I also mentioned I replaced the 24v fuse in the fuse...

New M1009 Owner in Oklahoma City

Looks like a nice one. I think the fun never ends when it comes to getting your Cucv just right. My pickup did that and one of the external signals was burnt out. Were you pulling a trailer when the signal was acting up? I had to get a heavy duty flasher controller because it wouldnt flash...
