I'm looking into a class V receiver that bolts to bottom of frame rails and just turn the pintle to clear it for towing, I would almost get rid of pintle but you just never know what your next trailer will be.
I have been planning to move my 923 batt's into the box under step also, I looked into a rail system like some motorhomes have their batts on. When it is mounted the batts are secured to the drawer bottom and the whole tray is then secured with rubber straps similar to some hood straps when it...
Thanks john. I think the hardest part was that massive center crossmember with its 9 million rivets (ok maybe few less) that wouldn't punch out even after cutting off the heads and grinding smooth. Any idea what the tandem setup and rear axle would weigh? our skid steer is rated to pick up...
well its at the no turning back stage! truck is officially 2 axles now. I got the tandem setup out today and moved my rear crossmember up to its new location, didnt get new springs on yet so truck is blocked up for now but next day off I plan to mount the springs and set it down on own weight...
ahh thats cool, I was always looking for a center piece that would fit the stock manifold but have a flange for turbo. I would be very interested to see your setup though as old cummins are in short supply around here to rob parts from.
ok well I got my 2 425/65/22.5s mounted up (had to buy a 1" impact to get lug nuts off after twisting the head off a 3/4" breaker bar)
I also have my 6" CAT stacks on truck with stack box to help with drone, still need to paint them black and finish up a set of supports to help keep them from...
oh yeah, pm me with details if it does become avail. I had just talked with a local welding shop about doing a knock off of one so i can put my 450w landing lights in.
hardest part of it seems to be air lines (capping the ones that went to rear most axle) I have my 923 pretty close to ready to pull the tandem setup and put on bobber springs (5 ton fronts)
I'll stick with 4.10 even with the th400 and stock rubber, I had a 3.73 truck and it was nice for highway but seemed to lose the low end when pulling anything with it. I guess it really depends if truck will ever be used to pull a trailer. If it is mainly going to be a highway commuter I just...
I have 4.10's 5spd manual and 37's and love the gearing, still has low end grunt in 1st and can run highway speeds no problem. I could actually go with 4.56 with 5spd (and may in future if get a good deal on axles)
my thoughts were airbags work great for on rd trucks and can be great for ride if you have time to setup properly. I decided to go leaf spring just to keep truck so simple a cave man could work on it lol.
I'm currently planning a 6.2 build and have looked up countless setups, personally I'm not doing a over the top no expense spared build but I will give you run down of what I think.
again my build will be using mainly stock off the shelf type parts, if money was no option get a machine shop to...
I'm glad to see so many guys wanting to convert their 939 trucks, means prices on 939 cabs should be coming down and I can get a crew cab started lol. nothing new to add to your build other than great job on it, cant wait to see it running around.
