Update-52's are getting closer to being on-and refurb work

Nice paint job on the wheels. Did you ever consider black wheels? Do your tires have tubes in them? If so, I'm not sure all of the suggested balancing methods are going to work for you.

    919 concrete truck

Ross, I think you are asking the right questions and looking in the right direction. Once you get past the deuces, you basically have big, bigger and biggest. I consider the 5 ton series to be big, the M915 series to be bigger and the M911 to be the biggest. Any of these might help you meet...

Picked up my first deuce today...need a lil' help!

Some guys get bottle jacks with their deuces, but it looks like you got a smokescreen machine. Nice score!

    Water Buffalo

Does it need to be potable? If not, you might also consider a M105 trailer and 600 gallon fuel pod. Several have been going through GL at Fort Riley.

    m35a2 prices?

Bid amounts during an auction are almost irrelevant. Only the closing bid matters. It IS possible that some of the trucks have been inspected by bidders and the lower priced ones are junk. Minimal value on a deuce is $1000. Sometimes, you can get good runners with hard top, troop seats, and...

    $50K HUMVEE

I missed out on another good deal. What confuses me is the bid history. How does one guy raise the bids himself from $30,000 to $50,000? http://offer.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=250270828737

RE: 8 ton on a duece? Yes, a five ton would be better.

    FMTV rims on 809-series

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Pictures of FMTV Tires GREAT info Jimbo! I am surprised to learn that they are beveled on both sides.

    FMTV rims on 809-series

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Pictures of FMTV Tires Has anyone here tried the FMTV wheels on an older 5 ton yet? Do you need to flip the hubs or can you just flip the wheel? I no longer have the truck with the FMTV wheels on the front, but hope to get a full set soon and try them.

    new deuce #2-- wow!

Nice acquisition! Out of the 97 or so trucks in the auction, that was clearly the nicest one.

Cheap M35A3, I'm eating my words...

Well the rims alone are worth $2100 to $4900, per ODIRON estimate. Looks like the truck was a great buy.

running Hummer rims: DRW hubs, or spacers?

Go with spacers. Quick, cheap and easy.

Set of A3 Wheels Up For Grabs...

Re: RE: Set of A3 Wheels Up For Grabs... Ahhh....I thought the ease of mounting was an advantage with the two piece wheels? Maybe they just don't understand what they have or how to do it. It seems questionable to give up CTIS capabilities for 1 piece rims. They must have their reasons...

Set of A3 Wheels Up For Grabs...

Why are they wanting to trade? What is wrong with the wheels they have now that would motivate them to acquire new ones and go through the hassle of mounting them up?

    How are these glow plugs?

You might also consider a manual glow plug swtich if your controller is not functioning properly. See the sticky at the top of the CUCV forum.

questions about 5 tons. 24 to 12 volt

There a few different ways to power 12V stuff on a 5 ton. Why not just get 24V accessories? Depending on your amp requirements, you could try an inverter or you could add an additional or dual voltage alternator. Search the site here and you will find lots and lots of people who power 12V...
