Very low mileage M1165... The block heater seems to be there. Is it usable once I clean it up? Is that a standard block heater plug, and where do I get one? Just a straight plug-n-play or does it need some sort of controller between the house current and those pins?

I finally get to post in this thread. It's plated and legal now. Still several odd jobs around the vehicle that need doing. Rides good other than the feeling that the wheels aren't completely of a necessary round shape.

I solved my rear-view mirror problem. I'd picked up a windshield mounted mirror but I don't want it on the glass- visibility is already too limited. I used an aircraft clamp to mount it to the first support bar and it works perfect.

Get the winch on some sort of plate, then attach a stout hook to the plate. Wire it with a slave connector. Then you can use the hook to attach it to any of dozen different rings and tie-downs on the front or rear.

Bear in mind I'm not convinced it's the solenoid, but yes, it's easy to replace. Pull the screws for the cover and it should be easy enough from there to figure it out. Mine had anti-tamper torx heads on the cover, some do not.

Very true. When my solenoid failed and cost me $400 for a tow, I checked it and it did click, just not every time. I believe mine was a heat related failure, so it worked for a while when cool and failed when hot - leading to the point where it gave up the ghost and was failed all the time.
