I dont think there are any proof that any 6.2 or 6.5 is better than the other, they all have problems.
I would start by pulling oil pans to verify no cracks in the block/mains. that is #1
First time i ran WMO i was near 100% for weeks, Coked my injectors and it smoked badly
When i removed them i found that all of my glow plug tips were gone.
I imagine the injectors were pissing fuel and eroded them away?
91-93 6.2 or 6.5 will have factory 4180e behind it

Cheapest option for 4l80e. Seen complete trucks for 1000. Keep drivetrain, turbo your truck and od for cheap.
I changed my fuel filters the other day, then filled up my tank with black diesel:-D
Checked fluids, topped up power steering and brake fluid... Where did my brake fluid go?
