This sounds interesting. I have no idea how to test my shocks to see if they might need upgrading or not but if there is an upgrade option I would love to know.
I don't have high hopes in improving the fuel economy of the truck but I do hope that I can find lower cost fuel sources to augment the diesel. I'm hoping that methanol/water can help. Diesel is currently $3.50-$3.80 a gallon in San Jose CA.
so it looks like modern diesel engines get some 45% efficiency.

Diesel engines[edit]Engines using the Diesel cycle are usually more efficient, although the Diesel cycle itself is less efficient at equal compression ratios. Since diesel engines...
I'm currently getting over 8 Mpg out of my truck but it's unloaded. Rumor has it you can get 10 out of the truck with tuning, tires, high speed gears. From what I am reading methanol/water injection could help some maybe 2 mpg and there might be a newer more efficient turbo available. It would...
The reason lead acid batteries go bad as they age is the "sulfide". It's like rust on the plates and it doesn't conduct electricity well. You can use a de-sulfiding charger. I have one but it can only reverse some of the aging. https://smartercharger.com/
I think the layout of the batteries...
The batteries are parallel serial configuration. You only need 2 batteries to run the truck the other two just increase capacity. The batteries are designed to last 10 years so yours should have been usable until 2019. When you do change the batteries it's best to do it as a complete "pack" so...
The system we are going to buy. It provides 360 view. Looks like it will make parking the truck easier. https://fleets.rearviewsafety.com/360-systems/

When I replaced the missing bolt in my alternator I just pushed the tensioner with my hand and tightened it down. The belts are not max tight but they seem to work great so I'm not messing with it. It's miles away from a modern car with a spring tensioner.
Every bolt I have put a wrench on has been very loose or easy to remove. I'm not sure the torque specs are very high or things have just loosened by vibration.
Another data point. I lost my alternator bolt twice and my water pump was replaced before I got the truck (still unpainted). I checked my drive shafts for play and was able to shake them. I took them in for rebuild. The splines were trash, the main tube was bent and the u-joints were too work to...
that 8d battery looks 12V. To get 24V you will need two 12V batteries in series. So if you want to separate the 12/24 you would need. 2 batteries in series = 24V and one 12V battery or two 12V in parallel.
You can buy Hawker 6tl batteries directly from them. The oddesy is the retail brand and the batteries are different with that extra post. I bought 2 batteries from Napa. They are flooded cell and you must add acid. The hawker is an AGM which is better then flooded cell.

Those 100 amp alternator are actually two 50 amp outputs. 12 V DC @50 amp and another at 24 V DC from what I have read. Or possibly it's 100 amps split across both voltages

So after more internet research it looks like there are vibration measurement apps for android and iphone. There are also handheld meters for doing this. I've contacted the maker of this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vibratesoftware.jacobkelly.nvh to verify they can do hub...
