    Gear Indicator Question

The wire runs across a plastic tab on the cluster. This tab breaks off. Some guys use a screw as a substitute. There are pictures on the site. Maybe one of the similar threads listed at the bottom of the page. just checked and the threads below do have pictures and fixes if needed.

    Remote start

He wants to start his truck from inside the house so it will be all warm and toasty. ;-) With the auto transmission it could be done. You have to find a way to turn on the main switch and then engage the starter circuit. My personal opinion is that it is a bad idea. To many things to go wrong...

    Hardcore GPR

Only $55 compared to the $85 for the heavy duty ST85 glowplug relay at Napa. Gimp, I guess you could use it for the $15 DH starter relay. ;-)

    Gen 2 wire problem

Using the multimeter, check for 24v at the very bottom fuse. Leave the fuse in and test on both sides of the fuse. There is a little tab that allows for testing.

Walmart has a multimeter for around $10. Not great but does work. Allows cor checking voltages, ohms, amps and other items. Everyone should have one in their toolbox. Also remember that we are talking about two different voltmeters. One on the dash and one in your toolbox. The one on the dash...

Guess what broke while I was changing out my beat up and swollen glow plugs?

By taping a smaller diameter hose into the vacuum hose you can reach inside the precup and get more fragments out. Think of it as a drinking straw. You can get the last drop at the bottom of the cup.

Truck ran and then drained the batteries. Help me out here

Have you checked the very bottom fuse? It is the 24v that feeds the voltmeter. You may also want to check the voltmeter relay.

Wiring Help- What is this part/wire?

It is the temp switch that controls the high idle and cold advance on the injector pump. Diagram 3 or 4. The wire is hot when ever the key is on. The switch opens when the engine heats up. If it grounds it will blow the fuse.
