Hay I had some good luck today. I was able to remove the main and counter shaft with the tranmission in the truck. But I pulled the case out after finding all the bearings are bad. This is probley due to haveing chunks of metal floting around in the oil. It only took a few hours by my self...
Im installing new gears in mine today. I thank its posible to to put in a 5th od gear with out pulling the transmission. Ill see. I lost 5th on my home. If you need parts I found Memphis Equipment had the best price $260 for counter shaft gear and main shaft 5th gear.

I can make the converter my self for $5 its easy just need the plug.
But this link has some neat stuff my I use
were could I find a male nato plug for my M35a2 so I dont have to cut any wires
If I can find some Ill try to install a voltage converter in the plug so I dont have to chang out lights on every trailer I pull. If I have any luck Ill post diagrams and pics Thanks Matt
Nice Truck! I just picked up my 1st duece but did not have your luck.
I lost 5th gear and had to drive 10 hours doing only 40 mph.
