I used to have a Suzuki GT750 water buffalo, and the dealer sold radiator sealer to put in it even if it wasn't leaking....almost a preemptive thing. H.
I also have no fast idle. I checked voltage at the solenoid near the injector pump (Truck was cold) and got .4 volts. That probably indicates a bad temperature switch? H.
If the "push to start" switch isn't rated for the amperage, it might have burned/welded itself closed. Get a wiring diagram, and go back to stock. It is easier to solve problems with a tech manual and vehicle that is the same as the manual. When people start getting creative with modifications...
Back in the late seventies, early eighties, I was a young biker working construction in Phoenix AZ. It was common knowledge to us that you didn't go in certain areas and mess with other folks' property...or you may well disappear and never be found. There is a LOT of desert to get "lost"...
After getting an M101A2, I think the ideal trailer for me would be an M101A3 with CUCV wheels. That way I would have more space between the fender wells.
A simple toggle switch under the dash that prevents the truck from being started should do the trick for most crackheads and bad guys. Just don't tell anyone it is there. If you wanted to really confuse them, make a box with three toggle switches in a row, and wire them so they have to be in the...
My M1008 has troop seats in the bed, but some of the pins that hold them in the up position are missing. They appear to be stainless steel, with an attached "lanyard" to keep them from getting lost. Is there a source of these out there somewhere? I need five. The hardware store has similar pins...
Hey, another Command car in CT! I am in Canton. Any pics of yours?
On another note, I have a Russian BMW copy sidecar bike, and the transmission crunched like crazy when I shifted...and I have been riding BMW bikes for years. Another Ural rider described double clutching (A variation of it) and...
I just picked up a trailer, and there are two different tan colors on the tailgate. The lower larger section looks better to my eye right now, and I am wondering what color (and number) it is. The top section of tan isn't bad either, and my truck will probably end up being one of these colors...
Wow! That M1008 with the trailer bed on it looks great! Was it difficult to install?
Reminds me of a late sixties Jeep pickup I saw for sale once. It was firetruck red, civilian cab and front fenders, and a bed that looked like a smaller M715 bed. It was a great looking truck, and the owner...
24 inches of fresh snow here in my section of CT. I was using my neighbor's Isuzu trooper to plow his tenant's long driveway. Unknown to me was a drop off along one side of the driveway. I got a front wheel over the edge and down. Stuck. Darn! So I get his Kubota 4x4 diesel tractor and try to...
How do I identify an M101A2 with an M101A3 bed? I have seen some listed asM101A3 but they have the A2 type wheel wells and no fender extensions. Would an A2 with the A3 bed have CUCV type wheels and a straighter axle? H.
When I got my M1008, the wipers were super-slow, and the sprayer wouldn't spray. The windshield fluid in the tank was blue, but the truck had been sitting so long, the alcohol had evaporated. It was frozen solid.
Took the tank inside, emptied it.
Heated the hoses and nozzles on the truck with...
Is it feasible to put 1 1/2" wheel spacers on an M101A2 trailer, and trim/ move the fender wells 2" closer to the wall on each side? I would like to have 49" between the fender wells.
I hate modifying stock vehicles.....would I be better off getting a M101A3 and putting the CUCV style wheels...
I think my GL experience is one of the few times I bid on an item without actually physically inspecting the item. The few times I have done this at auctions where I got there to late to preview the stuff turned out to be bad deals. (Ebay not included...that is a whole 'nother crapshoot) If...
