If your m1031 did not have PTO did it also not have NP205 t-case? -

spare is not holding air
Take the tire to a shop to have it repaired or replaced. Starting out with a leaky spare & a can of 'fix-a-flat' is not a good idea. -

Replacing the IP seal in the replacement unit should help forestall a repeat performance. -

Parts truck vs. buying individual parts
It is true that the high wear/breakable items tend to be the same from one truck to the next, but overall the sum of the individual parts bought separately exceeds the cost of an entire parts vehicle. But as has been mentioned, you need to have room for the parts truck. -

What are parts worth?
I agree that in the current market it seems that whole trucks are valued considerably less than the sum of their parts. -

What did you do to your deuce this week?
Confirmed that my always on 'full' fuel guage problem is the result of a defective fuel level sender. Ordered a replacement sending unit. -

and the horn probably is also inoperative because the service light switch has been flipped to 'off'. -

Do it. If you are not satisfied with the end result you can always repaint. -

help with frustrating oil leak
I had a similar frustrating 'oil leak' issue that turned out to be a leaky injector pump. I suggest you first off eliminate that possibilty. -

how are these tires?
Have a set of these on an M37 & they are very good offroad. Chained-up they can go through some unbelievable muck & mud holes. -

I couldn't agree more- plan ahead & make the modification on your schedule & avoid an inconvenient break-down. It's just a matter of time. -

I agree with the 'too much weight & without brakes' assessment- this is not a good idea as one needs to drive expecting less than ideal situations. -

Check that you battery cables are not reversed. Been there; done that. -

Where to find a cheap CUCV for parts?
I agree- the uninformed willing to part with a broken down CUCV for a few $100's are few & far between as the internet is a instant source of information.
