I did not see a generator with this but I think it would take at least a 10Kw model to even make a drop of water. Very interesting model thanks for posting this.
RE: Re: Leece-Neville 100A Alternator
Where can I get one like it for my M818 it is currently wearing a dead Alternator and the duece one may be going up soon 100 Amps sounds just right.
Guys tighten your belts because the Army is serching for even more vehicles to make up the new Brigades Modularity has created a demand for more trucks than we have in the inventory. Maybe we should not have sold off the 900 series trucks. I asked a force manangement guy and he did not think...
My local shop used to have a contract with the Guard to do them but would not do mine last time I took one in. The regulator on the back housing goes bad and the Army rebuilds them. Funny thing is the AMC shop in Kuwait had a display of all the different alternators that have been used and...
Well if the Army extends me I may wind up joining you for a fourth trip to Iraq. The way things are going it may wind up being a third trip to Afghanistan. Retirement does not look so bad after all. Our prayers will be with you.
When do you get home? I will be keeping you in my prayers and look forward to the build on these in future days. Keep your eyes open over there it helped me get through three tours there.
My Suburban is wearing a highly modified HMMWV grill guard that was in the scrap yard. It has beaten two cars so far with only sraped paint on the grill guard. One thing on all my trucks is a grill guard ever since the first zero ran a stop sign in front of my Travel all and it took me weeks...
I like the 6.2 it is an economical engine and runs well. Of course it is under powered for big jobs but with the cost of diesel the only real upgrade I would do is the OD Tranny you are using along with the 33 inch tires it is running.
I had about 7,000 pounds of fill in my M105A2 a few years back and it was just down to the overloads. It had new tires and brakes so I was not worried and just wanted to make one run to pick up the fill and with the trailer happy with half the load I doubled it. I was a chore to move with my...
I was a truck platoon leader during the test that used these trucks at Fort Hood we ran them against or M915 M872 tractor trailers in hauling ammunition from North Fort Hood all the way around the perimeter, about a hundred miles in total and back simulating a short haul in a combat theater...
Maryland and DC are two of the most communist areas I have ever lived. I have had carry permits in MA, PA and Texas and moved to Maryland and am still facing issues from having two pistols in the very back of my Suburban. Just pray for me is all I can say about that one but it sure reminded me...
RE: Re: FMTV
I think we have hashed this over many times on this site. The Army came into the current war forgetting what it learned in Vietnam. We lost many Soldiers in unarmored vehicles and the FMTV was a snipers paradise. The duece could be up armored with steel plate that would stop SAF...
RE: Great time at Gilbert Show!
Oh man that was nice thanks for posting the pictures and I forgot to ask Mark if he could pass the cab top off to Tankersdad who lives just up the road from me.
