Not to not give you the answer but $500 is good for the product you're getting from Ouverson. They're tougher than a Detroit...but I don't know anyone outside of mud racing that's blown up a Detroit in a Rockwell.
I'm not the expert on these parts so I hope you don't mind me throwing in on this. That Allison is big...though you may stand a slim chance of making that fit. The 1138T is big. It's kinda really big. I think that alone would be enough to snuff out the any flames of this idea actually coming...
Found this from FoMoCo- sure its CYA practice...but they did afterall design and build it. It's like the safety factors in chain or cable or even forklift capacitys...sure you're 5,000lb lift truck will lift 7,000lb but carry the steer wheels on a bump.
'If you're ever planning to tow a...
Yes, please keep us posted on what you find out. I'm still questioning how the GCWR of the truck can be overridden by axle weight- seems like you guys may have found a loophole as far as axle weights but the overall legality of it I'm not so sure about. ...especially in states where it's a...
Clutch and pressure plate could be stuck together. Pop start, push in clutch, hit brakes. I had that happen one time on a new clutch install. Or, put in gear, foot on brake, clutch pushed in...hit starter. You may get lucky and have it break free then IF this is the issue.
This is gonna jump into the other hauling thread really quickly.
80,000 is the truck + trailer + cargo weight combined and rolling down the road on 5 axles.
What axle ratio does the truck have? Ford rates maximum towed 5th wheel varies on axle ratio.

Percentages are one thing but actual scaled axle load is another.
The other thing that will nail you is the actual printed Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) the manufacturer puts on the truck. You go over the GCWR and you're rolling the dice.
DH, I know what you're saying but they allow that with goosenecks since if the hitch is correctly located, it's loads the rear axle of the truck safely. You'll never, ever see any load off measure on a bumper pull.
A company Fayette Trailer is maybe 20mi from the farm and I check in with...
I think something only just touched on is that whatever the payload capacity is on the truck...that weight can be taken off the loaded gooseneck weight as it technically shares the load. If the payload capacity is 5,000lbs and and the trailer is 25,000lbs (for discussion) then you pull that 5k...
You may run across an English (I believe) tag from like Wolfington (Something...ish...like sorta that...) where it won't say 3053 on it but have some other odd form of ID. You can tell visually by the case that it's a deuce tranny so find 5th gear and spin it.
3053 or 3053A. You can double check by putting it in 5th, spinning the input and making sure the output gains on it. Output should turn not quite a quarter rotation more than the input.
305, 327, 350 with later 700R4 and plan to swap out the NP200 for the NP205. Find a 37x13x16 Swamper or Bogger and run stock wheels (...awaiting the lockring nay-sayers...) and you'll prolly be pretty happy with the result. If you're not going to regear and don't want to do a spring over lift...
