That's interesting. I am leaning toward the same construction as the S-280 shelter which they use on the other trucks.
Is there any chance anyone has a photo of the front spring attachment?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm also looking into building a LMTV (M1078) into a camper. I have confirmed the flat bed weighs 1300 lbs. Also I am designing my own box and am very interested in the anti torsional bed. The factory bed is hard attached so I'm now wondering if it prevents or...
aah ok. I am designing an RV box for the back and considering putting a lift gate to put motorcycles and other toys on. I was hoping the military had already done that and I might buy one surplus.
Sorry you used the term "tow weight" which threw me off.

I have no had a chance to read through the self...

emmado22 have you used...
I'm not defending their claims but I don't know what base MPG they were getting before injection. From my reading it looks like you can increase injected quantities up to a point and you get quench which is not destructive it just causes loss in power.

I have found one on an auction site and it's a bit over priced. I was hoping folks could help me identify all the items so I could build a...
Actually I have a nice 2 speed mile marker hydraulic winch sitting in my garage that I have for another project. If I can get the factory winch to work well enough I won't dig any deeper. I'm not intending on doing a lot of winching. I anticipate pulling other people out a bunch and probably...
more digging turns up the dodge duramax 6.6 is a very similar engine from what I am reading. It runs 22-24 psi stock. With software mods 26-30. Block can handle 45.
