Confirming info - Group 51 =9.4L, 5.1W, and 8.8H. ....which is what lead to my original question as to whether the Group 35 would fit at 9.1, 6.9, 8.9. That width of ~1.8" is what I'm wondering about.

Can anyone verify that there is NOT an extra 1.7" of room in the battery compartment/tray for a Group 35/85 battery? Specs of L, W, H for 35/85 are 9.1L, 6.9W, 8.9H versus the Group 51R sizing of 9.4L, 5.1W, 8.8H.
