i just pulled my tranny today. data plate clearly says 3052, but i spun the input and fourth gear is definitely 1:1 and fifth is overdrive. i'm assuming this one was converted at some point. does this sound correct?

so i pulled my tranny to repair/replace it today and thought it might be a good time to remote my brake fluid reservoir. i did a search and came up with exactly 1 thread on the topic. Does anyone have a napa part number for a reservoir? i'm looking for something inexpensive.

i totally agree. i'm here and i follow the rules the owner has set, just the dichotomy struck me as odd. if this were a knitting forum i'd totally undersand.

another thing, slightly off topic but in the same vein, anything south of "fiddle sticks, drat, or nincompoop" gets edited out like this is romper room or something. we drive big ****ing trucks and shoot big ****ing guns (most of us anyway), we might be able to handle it. heavens to betsy...

digging around in the search feature i found this old post. seems to be about the same problem i'm having. fifth gear at higher rpms whines like ****. seems to be louder the warmer/longer i drive it. it fades at neutral throttle, but very pronounced at on and off throttle. fluid level is right...

same here. especially in 5th gear my m35a2 has a loud whine. at maintenance throttle it goes away, but pretty loud accellerating or decelerating. noticed slight leak on tranny too. seems to be coming from high up on the case. i'll clean it up and try to narrow it down tomorrow.

cooter, so it was your battery and not the relay? i guess that's a good thing. did napa warranty that battery?

yes mine have the leaf springs. very little pressure on the windscreen. i found a 41-01 on fleabay just now for 11 bux shipped. that and my new blade should be good.

I just added napas version of the 25-11 on my stock arm and am somewhat less than impressed. i think it boils down to the stock arm not putting enough pressure on the blade. so i'll be ordering the anco arm and 13" wiper. for some reason my napa doesn't carry anco. so i'll find another source.

side note, 2m and 6m are probably good choices. both are very close to military frequncies that you might find in surplus radios. years back i remember seeing pallet loads of military radios at ham-fests being sold under the guise of re-crystaling for Ham.

been a Ham for 20 years or so. haven't keyed up in better than a decade. thought about putting together an old 2m rig for the deuce, but i'm out of the loop with local hams and none of my friends have thier ticket. so it seems a bit of pyrrhic endevor.

yeah, i found a new one for $54 but i'm unemployed. hoping someone has one under thier workbench with an inch of dust on it for $20. doesn't hurt to ask.

very true. we had a woman locally that hated for some reason seeing produce vendors on the side of the road selling fresh fruit and corn and such. she took it apon herself to singlehandedly have a law passed that banned produce vending on county maintained roads. not a terribly big deal in...
