I live less than an hour from Smyrna and I'd be glad to compare notes. However, at the moment, I'm only a MV owner in theory. I'm STILL waiting on the d@&n EUC to clear! I have a friend in Smiths Station, AL that has a M1008 that would be glad to show some mods/upgrades on his truck also.
No, that is a totally custom peice. It's actually a '70 Porsche air cleaner that I cut and welded the bottom of the stock 6.2 air cleaner base to fit the intake. The Porsche air cleaner had a 2.5" inlet, and I thought it would look cool. You can use a '93 - '99 6.5TD intake on a 6.2, I just...
I put a HMMWV takeout in my '67 C-30 dually. I turbocharged it with 6.5TD stuff from a '93 C2500. My point is, pretty much everything is interchangeable.
I bought a wrecked Suburban with a great running 6.2 and a Banks Sidewinder Turbo set-up for my M1009. I'm going to tranfer the turbo stuff over to M1009, and save engine for a spare. It runs great!
If that converter stalls at 1340 with a gas engine, it will probably be higher with the diesel since the torque peak is much lower. Even performance stall converter stall at higher RPM with engines that make more low end torque. That is why in recent years they have began to advertise a much...
The seats in the M1009 are also the same as 82 - 86 Camaro/Firebird and Cavalier also. The sliders are obviously different, but the seat it self is the same.
You're thinking in gas engine terms, which is totally different. A diesel has no buttlerflies to regulate air flow which why they pull no vacuum. A diesel pulls as much as air in at idle as a lot of gas engine do at WOT. Turning up the fuel is the only way to increase power. When you turbocharge...
I would love to see some old pics of them as delivered from GM or some from the 80's in stock form. I have looked around, but all I could really find is this old article. The article is cool, but it full of incorrect data. It says the CUCV's are 135HP and have 28 volt systems among other things...
No, it was the green one beside the tan one at WR. It had a little better body and about 40,000 less miles than the tan one. The tan one sold for for $1350 and I paid $1505 for this one. I had been looking at them in Atlanta on lots and owned by individuals for a while now, and rough ones seem...
